how much power is too much?

hello again guys,

looking for some advice or reassurance, i use a 400W bulb currently and the bill to run my set up is about $300 for it all. i'm wanting to setup up another 400W, upsize my air extraction and shit. so that's 800W and about an extra $350 for me per quarter because the energy rates increase after a certain amount.

i'm wanting to know if many people use more power than this? i mean i'm just worried that it will become a highlight on the energy company's computer.

i know they don't mind us paying more etc.. but has anyone come across problems or got attention because they used too much power?

air cons and shit use 1500 - 2000W and i'm sure some people have those on 12hrs per day over summer.

 

Am i hesitating for no reason, or is it smart that i have not yet gone ahead with this upscaling?

I borrowed a power measure thingy from the library.....a 600w light+air pump(small)+150m centrifugal through carbon filter(unsure of wattage)a waterpump rio 1700 and that's all I think...... was $3 a day @0.225 elect cost to run

yeah i've already gotten the bills, i was just wondering if upsizing would have any effects - trying to calibrate the size of the grow i want to do compared to others.

when i read a post about a guy with 3 x 1000W in his grow.. then my 900W is pissant.

is it cold in your area? 1500watt heaters or 7.5kw reverse cycle ac units are common place these days.
