Rizotonic vs Seasol

Recommended Posts

Over the last 2 weeks i have been doing a trial of rizotonic vs seasol on 4 different plants and have noticed and amazing results!

Using the amount of 2mls per litre with nutes i have come to the conclusion that i have been getting RIPPED OFF!

All plants are looking extremely healthy.

The 2 with the riz on them look good, and the 2 with the seasol on them look good with a very healthy root system on them!

The difference:

Riz $100 bottle

Seasol $8 bottle

The trial was on coco run to waste system with a flush every 7 days and using silica as well with ph 6.0.

Whilst i wouldn;t say your trial/experiment was definitive and conclusive proof I do have to say i;ve often said rhizo is over-rated.

So many products on the market and a lot of them are just trumped up, fancy named, run of the mill vitamins and minerals. DutchMaster are geniuses at making something so simple an basic sound like a new breakthrough and a fantastic advancement in the marriage of science an nature.

A lot of growers myself included seem to go the full circle, we start out using fuck all then gradually start buying more an more products an experimenting with the new "wonder" additives, after awhile we wake up to the fact most are bullshit and it;s just a plant and we start using less an less till we back to the simple basics with maybe 1 or 2 additives.

I dont have pics of seasol roots here today :peace: ive only used it once in an emercency in my indoor res ok but alittle harder to clean bumps and filters with no noticable change in plants.

often i use seasol on alsorts of seedlings and soil plants but it just doest compare to Rhizo/ simular.

Indoor growing unless organic in soil i think its a must, Used through to the first weeks of flower no real point after that.

Idoors a 200litre res lasts me about 10 days = and 800ml of rhizo =$75. Yes they are abit pricey ;) when used at the right time you can really see the results at the wrong time ... a waste.

Ive only just tried House and Gardens Root excelurator on a few clones straight into coco pucks that worked out well had very vigorous healthy growth at 0.3ml per litre its alot stronger but xxier.

Rhizo fresh rooted cut

Dont get me wrong there is nothing wrong with seasol but being not as refined it will be messier in the res if you use drippers they can clog so will inline filters if not checked. i wouldnt use seasolit in a bubbler or recirc where the res rarely gets a full refill and flush. In a watering can it will work well and recomended on trays of seedlings and small plants in soil outside

just thought i,d put up some actual results of the different products in a set trial. i cant tell any difference between the 4 plants. they are all looking extremely healthy. I was only hand watering but i can see how seasol might clog up drippers.

will keep posted on the development and final results to see if anything changes. Please feel free to add to this post if you have done similar trials with your results.

Crack open both bottles and smell. They are both seaweed solution. Ive been saying it for years....

Your right and that is why I went ahead and gave making my own a crack. Smells different then both products (although my first was made out of bull kelp alone............next time adding seaweed as well).

Rhizotonic claims to be made from some sort of algae.

hey flatcat auz, does soakin the seaweed in water smell much ?? this is something i would consider doing to make up some shit for my outdoor plants, i can half bury buckets down the bush and shit until the are ready if they stink.

was thinking to, would you dice your seaweed up, from my understanding that would allow it to break down a lot quicker sort of thing :peace:. Also on a completely different note i am setting up my 5ft fishtank again to so i can use the fish crap to add to the mix.

also, i am using House-Garden root excelurator at present and it is a freakin awesome product. Comes in a cool tin bottle as well :peace:

anyways, i am getting to side tracked,

peace,

DS
