general questions

Recommended Posts

Hello fellas, Hope all is good,

Well I have had some questions and think i have found a good place for them to be answered.

My 3 babys just popd about 1 week ago. ( unknown strain ) I tossed them into about 1 gallon of CoCoFiber Hydroponic Soilless medium, watered with Reverse Osmosis water, and stuck them 2 feet under 1 1000 hps. We have an exhaust fan sucking air in from outside but not 1 blowing out until the plants start to stink and we have to turn the carbon fiber filter on. As of now the plants are about 3 inches tall with 2 sets of leaves. The temp in the room constanty fluctuates between 70-90 and humidity between 35-60%. As for nutrients...i'm just using bat guano for nitrogen. I do have some Gravity flower hardener and coco's A and coco's B. HOWEVER im not entirely sure on how to use them.

QUESTIONS:

1. IS 1 GALLON TO MUCH SOIL FOR NOW? SHOULD I TRANSPLANT INTO SOMETHING SMALLER?

2. DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT SOIL-LESS MEDIUM? IS THERE ANYTHING DIFFERENT I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT IT?

3. DOES REVERSE OSMOSIS REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

4. SHOULD 1 WEEK OLD'S BE UNDER 1000 HPS? i know MH is ideal for VEG but that not an option right now.

5. WHAT TEMP/HUMIDITY RANGE SHOULD I try TO KEEP ROOM?

6. WHEN SHOULD I ADD NUTRIENTS AND WHAT SHOULD I ADD. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THEM NICE AND BUSHY, NOT TALL AND LANKY. IS IT TO EARLY TO FEED? CAN ANYONE PLEASE SHARE SOME GOOD NUTRIENTS I SHOULD USE FOR NOW?

i hope someone can please help me out. i am honestly a little confused as of what to do right now. I want to just watch them grow but there going slow and it seems i am missing something. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED

thanks guys, if it would help i can try to get pic's

Fuck man sounds like u got things covered

U can have em under the 1000 it is over kill but will still work a treat :gathering:

I hand water grow in coco/ perlite mix and use base nutes all the way till last few weeks of flower. Do u have a ppm / ec meter and a ph tester to test ur nutrient strength in ur resivour as it is important to know what ur feeding them. At 1 week i would use plain water.

I try keep temps under 25oC but as long as ur root mass is cool and the leaves are not burning from the light being 2 close u should be ok.

Best advice i can give u is at this age just leave em alone. Dont water till the coco is 90% dry and when u do water till u get a slight runoff coming out the bottom of the pots. As for busy plants u can research LST or FIM techquines just search them here or google and ull find planty of info there.

Last of all we all love pics :yinyang:

thanks for the quick reply paulshop :gathering:

i do not have a ppm meter or ph tester. Although tomarow i will go get a ph tester. What is the ppm meter for exactly? i know parts per million but until i feed them nutes i shouldnt need 1 right? by basic nutes what do you mean? this is my first time in coco so i dont know what to use..or if there is a difference between soil and soilless nutes. The leaves are nice n green, kind of light green but definitely not burnt. As for the pics, they should b up tomarow so pleaseeee keep the advice coming.

thanks

heheheheh No worries mate. PPM meter is used excatly for what u said, to measure ur parts per million in ur water. Every time u put nutes in water u put in ur tester and it tells u how much you r feeding them. And u gona need it as soon as u feed which i say prob a week. U dont HAVE to have 1 but they r important, if u dont get 1 start the plants off at half the strenght the bottle tells u to, and then u can see how they go.

By basic nutes i mean ur grow a and b bottles, later on u can add additives like PK n other shit thats not needed now :gathering:.

Get ya self a ph meter and keep it between 5.8 and 6.2 ( some ppl r different but thats where i keep it at )
