Hotbox's Grow

Recommended Posts

Hey dudes

I decided to start my own thread for my grow so I don't keep on making new ones and can keep everything based in one thread. Tried growing a few times but never gotten a harvest , so guess im still a noob haha.

Heres whats been happening:

A mate and I got some apparent white russian seeds from a friend, started off with 10 and have now got 5 left. We started germinating them on the 2nd of september and planted them in a greenhouse in the bush on the 4th in some seed raising mix. They didn't receive enough care which caused some of them to cark it and the other ones with a very slow growth rate... Last Thursday we brought them indoors under a 400 W HPS on 18/6 and since then they have grown heaps quicker. They are still in the seed raising mix which seems to go alright because of good drainage but it has no nutrients, so on monday we gave them some nutes but accidently full strength. We then flushed them on wednesday just to be safe and plan on giving them half strength on monday.

The lights are about 40 cm away from the biggest plant and the temp ranges from about 26-31 degrees, with nearly no humidity in the room so we put a bucket of water in there today. These plants will be going in the bush in a couple weeks but we need to find a new spot because the old place had heaps of termites.

Also, we got a few clones from a mate. We put them in some jiffy pellets in a fish tank in the corner of the room with books covering the sides so it doesn't have any direct light, and the tank is sitting above the ballast which should keep it warm.

Hopefully will be able to get some clones off the bigger plant and some more seeds soon too.

Here are some pictures.. what do you guys think? Pretty happy with them so far  except for the leaf curling but apparently that's all good.

Cheers :D

Two out of 5 of the plants turned out to be male which were determined by preflowers.. the other 3 are females. The biggets one was a male which sucks but shit happens. The 3 clones worked and they are beginning to grow now... and got 8 more seeds.. 4 of which are started and the other 4 will be when the 3 big plants move out. They have been put into bigger pots and are looking nice now. will update with some pics when some of them go in the bush which should b within the next week. a bit worried about the termite situation though.

Hi Hotbox,

HB......I decided to start my own thread for my grow so I don't keep on making new ones and can keep everything based in one thread. Tried growing a few times but never gotten a harvest sad.gif, so guess im still a noob haha.

Couldn't be virgin, but the water may have broken. ................ seriously .. good on you for doing a GD HB.

Also, we got a few clones from a mate.

Given seeds, followed by clones ..... dam-good friends/circles you move in. :ack:

Now, onto your clones, then plants.

Clones - look fine - good trim of the fingers

some tips.

The fish tank is cool - ;) (I take it the clones have been sexed)

Do you have the tanks original light? UV blue's will keep them growing/alive. Watch the amount of water. If they are still in the cubes - pretty sure they were when they arrived.

Being clones they can take full strength nutes but will do well on 1/2 strength.

You have provided well for them - looking to rock.

Plants -

This pic of lLeaf Curl & splitting/ripping looks like temps/RO combo.

I think it is on the plant in pic #1 from which I see is healthy ;) and hot showing 'tip (edge) burn which is the sure tail sign of a nutrient O/D.

Air flow/exchange would deal with this problem.

A dam healthy grow(s) happening Hotbox - :D -

:D

Nitty.

hey mate!

Couldn't be virgin, but the water may have broken. ..........

Haha lets hope so!!

(I take it the clones have been sexed)

The plant that we took the clones from was showing female preflowers.. except it was a weird strain leaves growing in weird patterns and twisting and stuff haha... thats bagseed i guess.

Do you have the tanks original light?

Didn't think of that! but not too sure... will have a look for it next time because they have already rooted.

They were rooted in about a week so i took them out and put them in some pots in some shade under the hps. Now they are under it directly but further away then the other plants... hopefully they can rough it out under the light untill they get used to it. Will give them some nutrients now though.

I think your spot on with the temperature... temps are getting upto like 33 sometimes which isnt good at all. It is hard to get ventilation in there because it is made out of bricks! so we leave the door open with the fan blowing in. It would be good to sort out some vent but maybe it will get them hardy for the summer.

cheers for the advice nitram.
