Looking for soil

Im about to start my first grow and need some advice on which is the best soil for mj. I will be adding gh nutes so looking for something without to much fertiliser in it and that can grow seedlings.

 

Theres two products I found that seem good but cant find them in aus, first is that Canna BIO TERRA PLUS Soil

and biobizz light-mix which I saw in an australian hyro magazine.

 

Also any1 know where can I get rapid rooters in australia?

I use the Canna Terra potting mix with perlite on a 10:1 ratio. It is easy to over water when first starting out with this stuff. Now I just follow the instructions on the bag and my finger in the soil and the weight of the pot.

Where did you get that potting mix? and how are you finding it? Is it okay for seedlings? and when you say overwater would adding more perlite fix that

I get it from a hydro/paint shop in North Melbourne. I have started two plants in it, one pot was just the potting soil and the other was potting soil with about 2cm of seed raising mix on top. No noticable difference in germinating. Both popped at the same time and both are equal heights. The over water problem was my miss reading the signs. The canna can get dry on top pretty quickly and looks like it needs water when it doesn't really need any. It is my second grow using it and I am now more in tune with the needs of the plant and soil. Adding more or less perlite won't fix it. I also use it outside, I dig a pretty big hole mix the canna with perlite and worm castings in pig shit, at the bottom of the hole I put about 10cm's of perlite to help drainage as my garden soil is mostly clay it drains ok but gets soggy and sticky after a lot of rain.
