Domestic Exhaust Vs Inline Fan

Recommended Posts

I have calculated that 110 L/s of Airflow would be enough for me. I was wondering why i should fork out the extra money to get an inline fan over a domestic exhaust. I was looking the two below fans. ANY advice would be appreciated!

Customline, 150mm, 120ltr/sec

AUD$73.20

Lenco, Celling & Wall Fan, 250mm, 157ltr/sec

AUD$43.40

heya an welcome spartan :peace: ... IMO go with the customline it will last alot longer and overall be more efficeint ... the domestic is just that, designed for applications like bathroom / kitchen exhaust ... if noise is an important factor maybe the choice is reversed?, i dont know comparable noise levels ...

these are only suggestions

hey spartan, i would encourage you to get the inline fan over the domestic because the airflow measurement doesn't take into account the resistance it has to put up with. if you want to add a carbon filter then your domestic fan will pull through fuck all air. Centri's are better for using with a filter, and you're supposed to pull the air through the filter, having it in the grow room.

in saying this, i use an inline fan with a home made carbon filter attached on the outside and it works a treat. the smell is 90% gone. it's a 150mm inline one of those $70 jobs you are looking at. i've got a 250mm fan waiting to be put to use though and i would recommend a 250mm over a 150mm to start with. they are more powerful and pull through alot more air, while sit at around $10 more on ebay. you can't go wrong with that. i think they use around 70w of power. 250mm inline=) low noise, good power.
