Come along to Byron Bay, NSW, Australia, July 10 2003 to stand along side local Nimbin legend Rusty Harris as he defends us in the rediculous war on drugs. Be a part of the festival atmosphere.

The story in a Nutshell... (as told by generic hippie)

Rusty Harris was illegally (or at least immorally, thats yet to be decided) searched by a marijuana sniffing dog named "Thor" while he was lawfully minding his own fucking business on the streets of Byron Bay. The upshot of this for the local Nazi's is it gave them the opportunity to bust Rusty with 2 ounces of pot and $900 in ca$h, which of course, they stole from him. The Nazi's claim the money was obtained through illegal selling of dope, which, because Rusty is a hippie, must of course, be the truth. The reality is Rusty has earned that money through cd and postcard sales and some of it was mine, because I've sent Rusty's postcard to a lot of people all over the country, (he's sold over 10000 of them). He's taking a stand to end the bullshit.

 

This man is putting his freedom on the line to stand up for our freedom and rights. The entire generic hippie family will be there in support of Rusty, I'm pulling the kids out of school for the day. Every time Rusty goes to court we have an obligation to make as much noise as we can, there will be bands, guest speakers, hemp displays and information. A mini-Mardi Grass if you like...

 

Be there or hide your usage forever and continue the hypocrisy into the future for your kids...

Where the fuck were you when I was in court??? and my missus, I dont think you were there either.

 

We are all putting our freedom on the line to grow weed, what makes this guy so special??? If there is bands playing it sounds like he has enough friends already. So we can stick to seeing our OWN friends in court.

 

What about the other guys arrested for pot?? do you expect everyone to go to those cases and protest, because there is a shitload of people fined for MJ possession everyday.

 

This guy is a hippy, a fine is gonna be fuck all effect on his life, compared to the smart school kid who cant get a good job anymore. All these people want MJ legalised!!!!!

My wife pointed out to me that we are in fact available to come to Court in support of you or your Mrs, anytime, any Court, post your appearance date and we'll be there with bells on, making just as much noise as we do for Rusty...

Thats the trouble with Nimbin, it's all about who likes who and not about the weed...

well generic_hippie.....i will be there if i can, most of us in the area know of poor rusty's plight and are sympathisers in this case (with maybe the exception of wc...)

Hello, good to hear that you are spreading the word about Rusty and supporting him.

 

But, is could be possible you give us some light/background about Rusty? I mean I have no idea who is, just out of curiousity what makes him a legend? did he did something to do with MJ or something in the past?

 

Thought might be good to give us some more about Rusty because I am sure a lot of members, including me have no idea who he is.

you could always park somewhere else that isn't near the courthouse, chances are you wouldn't get a park so close to the courthouse anyway.....

i don't think that the police would be going arround tracking the rego's of all the people that have qld number plates in byron, they would need to call in troops from across the state to do that.... ::
