Determining sex

Recommended Posts

I'm getting some good ol' mandala genetics out this year, only a few plants.

But I want to make sure I get rid of the males to reduce plant numbers. Sucks to get caught if u got male plants that rn't worth keeping anyway...

So, the only way I can figure out how to sort out the males from females before the sun decides is to make clones and cover the clones with a box so they get 12/12 and go from there. This is because unfortunately indoor lighting isn't an option.

My question is, is there any better, easier way of doing this? Maybe even when the plants are only a few weeks old?

Thanks a ton.

other than cloning and flipping, or manually flipping the light cycle of the plants (with a box or whatever you said), to my knowledge there isnt any other way to determine the sex, i was thinking the other week that it would be kool if there was a product on the market in which you could take a small cutting of the plant or something and test the hormones or whatever, similar in the way a pregnancy test works, and the result from the test would then indicate if the plant is male or female.... just a dream atm tho...

Of course! I smoked some of the leaves off the male plants in my last grow. Couldn't be bothered to going to the trouble of making something nice.

Yeah, well, that is the option I am going to have to go with otherwise, wait for them to show sex. But they are in the ground for a good 3-4 months before they show. So, I guess it is the clone method. After all, I will get some clones lol
