First grown on the go

Recommended Posts

Hi All

After some advice and trawling through the pages on here I ordered my seeds from the UK and they arrived in a week.

Ordered some Papaya and they threw in 5 free PPP seeds, spent 5 days germinating and potted them a week ago in some seed raising mix and Perlite, all bar one have broken the surface now.

I dont have the ideal situation with regards to light (no hydro as I'm renting), basically I'm going for an outdoor grow long term (have a nice sunny private spot save for the troops come the time), I'm up at 05:30 for work and take them out into the garden, water them and then bring them in at about 18:00 and keep them in the laundry room under a normal tube until about 23:00 then it's lights out. Will the amount of light (is it even worth turning the flourescent light on in the laudry when I bring them in?) I give them stunt the growth or slow the process ?? They are all healthy and a good green colour but no more than 1.5 cm across so far, which I believe is fine as they were only planted 7 days ago.

Any tips with regards to my style of growing appreciated, I'm in Sydney, I hope by the time I transplant it will be warm enough at night to leave them outside all night.

Anyway I'm quite happy with the progress so far, hoping for 10 ladies some weeks down the line dont need Lady Gaga turning up eh :devilred:

Just wanted to share my little journey :harhar:

Cheers

Well 7 out of 9 survived

Just going past the 2 leaf stage now, new leaves sprouting on each plant. Growing slower than I expected but I guess thats because they're only getting 13 hours of day light, started leaving the light on in the laundry all night seems to be helping a little.

The pro's on here are probably pissing themselves at this amatuer and they way i'm doing it :scratchin:

I'm quite enjoying the whole experience, I have these visions of what the end product may be like but dont want to get my hopes up to high being as it's my first attempt, one minute I'm thinking i'll have a years supply the next I'm telling myself to be patient, they could all be geezers afterall.

Goodluck PS

I doubt the laundry light will make much difference, but you could try putting 1 or 2 reading lamps over the plants with 50w CFLs in. I'd be giving the plants a few hours rest in darkness each night, apparently plants need it for their growth cycle (see last saturdays Science Show on Radio National)

greetnz

for the laundry light <----------a fluro

you need to get the plants right up close to the blub to be any real benifit

dont ever let the leaves touch it

or they will burn

but you must be within at least 200mil

the closer you get them

the faster they will grow

so

raize the plants or lower the light

Call me paranoid, i'm a little concerned with posting pics, I dont need someone checking my IP affress and paying a visit after posting evidence

In the mean time 2 weeks in and im onto the 3 rd leaf stage (as i would call it), 2 leaves, 2 leaves and now 4 leaves are sprouting, just wondering when I should transplant at present they're in pots about 3 inches across and 4 inches deep 8 x 10 cm roughly.

Cheers

anytime after the equanox on wed the 23 sep

she'll take off from then on

get her to about 300mil before you consider transplant outdoors

put the pot in the spot for about 1wk before you transplant

but

maybe you should consider keeping her in a large pot outdoors

for stelth

you could stash her and protect her from the elements ect

Cheers Radic

Yep going for a large pot, 8 inches across, 10 inches deep, sticking to the usual 06:00-19:00-20:00 and then in for the night.

Standing about 150mil high with 10 leaves but blowing about in the wind, I dont want them to snap, stems still very thin.

3 weeks since planting my germinated seeds and really pleased with the progress, long may it continue.

When transplanting im just going for normal potting compost and some more Perlite and the usual daily watering, worth a shot of baby bio every now and then ?

I've been using this thread as a basic guide https://cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners...=21835&st=8

A great help to any newbie I must say
