400w Bulb in a 600w Ballast ?

well i have the same problem, i had a 400w globe and a 600w ballast laying around now would it be worth while using it until i can buy a 400w ballast or not? i've had it running for about a week now with temps at 32C at max and 24-26 C at minimum. i have a 600W bulb there but im afraid that the temps will rocket if i use it..

 

oh, and any idea on the temperature difference between 400 and 600hps?

dont really care bout ya temps sorry mate but my concern is this ballast bullshit....Would u use a spoon to eat a steak?......no....would u use a boat to drive on a freeway?.........fuck no......Y cause its a stupid idea, Get the right tool for the job boys or dont worry about it. Safety is first, u are all trying to save a bux to grow something thats very expensive 2 buy get over it spend the extra 100 bux get the right ballast and if ya aint got it fuckin wait.

hey i have been running 400w hps with 600w balast for awhile untill i get my 400w balast back an everything seem to be fine but i just read this there and seen comment about wasting power so will be getting it back real quick
