How much water does my plant need?

So I have planted some seedlings that I germinated about a week ago and I planted them not very long ago. Many people have told me to water them once a day but during this watering how much should i be watering? SHould i be drenching them or only lightly spraying the top soil??

If it was me i would be watering every 2-3 days, be careful u dont over water as that can cause some probs...

I agree with ozzy420, I would only be watering them when they are nearly dry - prolly every few days

 

They won't be drinking very much at this stage and they have a complete set of nutes built in for the early days so no nutes until they get a tad bigger

Well I germinated them for 5 days then planted them and they havnt cracked through the soil yet, they are around 2-3cm below the surface and its been 3 days since they have been in there. How much longer until they pop through the soil. Edited August 30, 2009 by sulo

Had the seeds opened up before u planted them and how much water have u been giving them as u only want it damp but not to dry or wet, cause if u have over watered them u may have drowned them.

 

2-3cm it about rite to berry them, did u pack the soil tight on top or just sprinkle back in...

Umm I have been watering them once a day but only light watering and its been very hot/sunny/dry lately. The soil was just sprinkled above it not packed tightly and the seeds had already been in a glass of water for five days and opened up.

Ok well stick ya finger into the soil about 3cm and see if it feels dry if so u may need to use a bit more water, as if it is dry at that lever there is a chance that they have dryed out and died, but fingers crossed they havent and thay are just takin there sweet time to pop out...

All of what has been said with the addition of picking up your pot to feel how heavy it is. After doiong this many time you will get to know very well how much water if any you need.
