The Australian Hemp Party

I just posted an application for membership yesterday.

 

Is anyone here either a member or thinking of becoming a member? What are peoples opinions of the Australian hemp party? It has occured to me that if im really as passionate about this issue as I say, then I really should get of my arse and join, so that's what I've done.

I don't have a phone.. is that going to be a problem if asked to confirm my membership should I join? does anyone know?

i don't know but it says they got raided.. so if you were a member i'd assume they'd have all your details etc.. probably not good if you are growing??

Firstly if you live interstate the NSW police can't touch you and secondly they need a reason to get a warrant to raid you. Being a member of a political party Is not enough to get a warrant.

They also confirm membership by registered mail... no phone is not a problem

this statement isn't for no reason,

 

that has been the major problem if you are not serious do not register because it will stuff the applications up if the AEC decides to call you to confirm registration and you freak out and hang up on them.

 

It will wreck it for all others who are Brave enough to give their details and say i am a HEMP Party member and proud of it.

So are you excluding people who want privacy from your group ? i don't mean too come across harsh but seriously is that a good idea, i think you should allow at least a portion of your members too be in some way anonymous. I hope too contact you over the next few days and read through your site a bit. I am considering joining but am still unsure.

It's interesting to see that so many declined or were not able to be contacted ...

WHo is the commission and why should they be trusted to decide an accurate representation? ...

 

I wonder how many members there are thought to be signed up? ... anyone know?

 

I would think that 500 would be fairly achievable ...

Then again ... maybe not ...

 

I have no Political persuasion but for my own ... plus I moved around to much , never situated so there is no point ...

As they have been saying for years now , It's detrimental to the cause to sign-up and Not be available to confirm your registration.

 

Obviously the HEMP Party will never be a part of the un-democratic 2-party politics ... and I have no idea on their policies surrounding other subjects ... but if they were registered there is a chance they could recieve funding and be better highlighted/represented in the National Community ... ? ... I think that's about the gist of it , plz correct me if I'm wrong.

 

I still distrust that a governmental commision would be fair and accurate concerning such a matter ... surely it would be very easy for them to be selective with their contacts and resulting statistics hmmm ...

 

Anyhoo , Best of Luck to them ... I hope they get better results this season ... maybe they should make contact themselves with all registered peoples before the process to make sure of confirmation details ... I'm not sure if it is possible to "cull" the memberships after the fact , probably not ... but a better form of screening might help at least to see how solutions could be improved.
