Making a bong out of a beer bottle.

Recommended Posts

ive got bongs sitting in the cupboard i made out of a chivas regal bottle and a big galliano bottle. The galliano one was awesome but i dropped it and the stem snapped (i make mine all glass). Haven't replaced it coz I haven't touched it since I got my new bong... but I will one day. The Chivas Regal bong comes out when friends wanna smoke coz my cyclone bong is my baby.

I have found that if you fill the glass bottle with damp sand and compress it in, it helps stop the bottle form cracking while drilling.

I was thinking of saying this when I read the thread also!

The best bong I made was in '97 when I was at Cessnock gaol, I was doing pottery & claimed it was a vase :peace: the screws ended up breaking it when they ramped the wing & I wasn't allowed to do pottery anymore! :D

Good work on your effort though :faint:

Cheers, all my friends now smoke out of something quite alot healthier than an orchy bottle with garden hose in it. I've since found the Tooheys Extra Dry bottles are the most practicle label-wise as the label is imprinted upon the glass itself.

One particular friend just loves his VB one. Repeted times now his Mrs has come into his "den", smelled weed and sort of poked around the bar looking for the bong... which of course was right in front of her nose amongst the other bottles :faint: .

 :peace:

I made one out of a galliano bottle. I chipped/chiseled/ground my way thru it with a pointy nosed file. only took a few hours.

I did the same thing once with a dart, including a shotty. Galliano bottles are great for making bongs.

Be careful when making holes in bottles, drilled or otherwise, though, because when the bottles come from the factory, they're not 100% annealed and can have a lot of internal stress in the glass. It's ok to keep liquid in, when the integrity of the glass is not compromised, but just cutting into the skin of the glass can make the bottle break surprisingly easily. You can actually see the strain in the glass by using two polarising filters (like the ones you put on the front of your camera) and a light source.
