dutch-glory (not so) premium coco

Recommended Posts

First post

whilst potting my roma tomato clones, using dutch-glory premium cocopeat. I stumbled upon something extraordinary! In this new bag of coir i had purchased was a cigarette butt.upon examining the bag i noticed a certification stamp from the rhp and wondered if tobacco was part of this certification.i immediately emailed the manufacturer and received a reply in quick time, the contents of which is as follows.

That dirty Butt will have no effect on your seedlings .

I have discussed this matter with our packaging company , and they

are investigating .

Cheers Pat

Director.

i have not had a reply back from the rhp foundation in 5 days as to whether or not tobacco products are part of the substrate components certification.

this may well be a one off occurance or it could be an indication of dodgy manufacturing processes which in any case leads me to distrust this certification mark and wonder if the premium price for a not so premium product is worth my hard earned dollars!

has anyone else bought a kinder surprise of late?

No . I've been using the Dutch Glory stuff for my last 4 crops , and its fine . I guess these things might happen sometimes .

For example , about two year ago I was using Canna Coco , and I found 2 snail shells in it . One time I bought some potty

mix from the local nursery and found an ants nest in it .

Chill dude , my local hydro store sells shit loads of it and swares by it . The nutrients are better .
