$100 for .5g of cannabis

They usually get a gram for $100. Don't know why people are blaming the dealers though, the price represents how hard it is to get herb up there. A lot of these communitys are closed and the cops are always on there arse.

 

Also what really gets to me is a while back there was a news story about how the koories are not drinking as much and instead choosing to smoke herb, the only problem they could find with this is because there spending there whole pay checks on getting stoned and then begging and family members for money so they can by more. If it didn't cost so much that wouldn't be a problem!

 

It's the government and coppers that are to blame, so stop blaming the growers and dealers, there just trying to make a living like anyone else!!

Not 1 of the greedy fuckers in recent history except Sandra Knack has had the fortitude/integrity/common sense/guts to stand up for whats right. Well, firstly they only get 12 hours sun all year round up there so it would probably take over 32 plants to produce a pound and if anyone has seen there living conditions you would know that growing indoors isn't really a option and also like I've already said these are closed communities white people aren't allowed there without a permit and the coppers are always setting up road blocks to caught people with alcohol porn and of course drugs.

 

It just isn't the same as scoring weed in some big city, so yes I stand by what I said it's government policy and the cops nannying the koories that brings the price up, not the dealers.

Have to agree with jabez here, the situation determines the price, with such a high chance of being caught (and face it, somebody is bound to squeal in a situation like this) it is no wonder the dealer is trying to get every cent they can before it all goes pear shaped (and sounds like that just happened).

Doesnt mean I think it is right, I think it is stupid selling there in the first place, just asking for trouble.

Yeah seems theres people to blame on all sorts of levels with this one.

 

Its greedy no doubt but on the flip side you have to wonder exactly what type of people are paying that kind of money.

 

I dont care about skincolor/race because there are "wasters" for lack of a better word in all cultures, some people just want to get wasted on anything they can get hold of, full stop. They may or may not have children, I'd hazard a guess that the worst of them dont.[well, not in thier custody at least]

 

And dont forget most of those towns are dry[no alcohol] or have restrictions on how much they can buy per day. There are programs/people to help with the whole sniffing of petrol/solvents, from what I hear the sale of anything like that can be restricted as well, well they dont make them easy to get like we can anyway.

 

So, take your average neibourhood waster, from any town, give him some cash and heavily restrict what kind of legal options they have to get wasted. To someone in that position the price doesnt mean much, fact is the vast majority of full on wasters dont earn thier own money.

 

Well thats what I think anyway, throwing weed under the addiction bus is just a cheap shot on their behalf. Its plainly fucking obvious to all and sundry that anyone who would pay $100 for half a gram is clearly out of their mind. End of the day someone is going to be making profit off these poor saps, no matter if its a rich old wino from a well to do suburb in sydney or a toad linkin teenager in some remote town. If anyone is going to take thier cash it might as well be for canabis....hell, money talks! Once the treasury see those kinda numbers they will wet their fuckin pants

I agree with Jabez also, to create a supply there must be a demand. If the demand is greater than what is available then you will be ripped off, whether you are buying cannabis or booze or hard drugs. White man is to blame for this, the governments both parties, should fuck off and let the aboriginals run themselves under their own tribal laws. Let them be responsible for themselves. I dont want to take this thread right off topic with this but its just one of my pet hates, I just cant see how it cant be anything but a double standard.

 

Dont get me wrong, Aboriginal people have so much to rightly complain about. What about the Scotts,Irish? As ya know The people who sent the first fleet here didnt let a little thing like the color of your skin get in the way of their class system.

 

All im saying is it works both ways, a person with dark skin is seen by society as being a black person and have to deal with everything that comes with that good and bad, if they like it or not. Well the same works for the white person, just by the color of my skin your denying me any culture of my own by lumping all "us white folk" together. Im 32 and my whole life ive been told "my people" are responsible for stealing this country and destroying Aboriginal culture....all based on the color of my skin, forget the fact my ancestors fought against the very same people.

You are correct Thylacine I was generalising (big mistake sorry) but it does piss me off. Hate is an emotion I try to avoid. And I would not waste it on a pom. I suppose what I mean is we the whitey's (this time I mean governments) have tried and failed with the indigenous people. Our laws are too complex for them, we do not want to understand them we just keep imposing our rules on a race of people who were doing ok until we (again I mean govs) tried to bend them to our rules. The issues are just too complex.

Would the indigenous people be so fucked up if we had have left them alone to live there lives their way? Same thing has happened to the North American Indians, South American Indians (by the Spainish).

I don't think we (sic) have destroyed their culture we have suppressed it, it is all too fucked up. Imagine how confused they must be when they have a problem and have to use laws as complex as ours to solve it, when their own tribal laws would have a quicker solution to the problem.

Then they have to deal with corruption. Which comes from greedy white men exploiting them. And I mean right back to when missionaries were trying to convert them to our "god".
