Help with ec and ph meters

hi guys i just have a quick question about ec and ph meters

 

i notices to buy these in shops is roughly about $100- $160

 

after a quick search on ebay i found you can get digital ph meters for 40- 80 dollars

 

has anyone bought one of these meters and if so, are the cheap ones good enough quailty to last and do the job?

I have an 'Eco Stick" EC truncheon, on ebay about $56, over 12 months old and hasnt missed a beat.

I also have a a 'Bluelab' truncheon, dunno how old it is but its ancient and still reads right, they are over $100.

Most of the PH meters around the $80 look ok, but fore that price I recommend the HANNA brand.
