My 2nd grow

Recommended Posts

Hey all i was thinking of trying those water crystals are thay any good for mj or should i keep away from them why i ask is i am growing in 100% perlite i dont want to upset my baby to mix some vernic with it so it holds a little water so any info on this would be good :)

If the plants are looking healthy don't mess with them, 100% perlite is fine for run to waste, if you want to keep more nutrients available then use a larger "reservoir" at the bottom of the pot.

Hey all i was just wondering if there is any way of solwing a plant down as i have 3 in at the moment and 1 is a bit older than the others, so is there any way of slowing it down a bit to let the others catch up a bit with out stressing it to much so thay are all about the same size so i can bud them all at the same time, i was thinking of takeing the older 1 out and putting it under a cf to give the others to catch up a little bit or do yas think i should just leave it  Edited by ozmade

Use the CF and one or two more in the grow room, suspend them over the smaller plants to get them to grow faster and tie the taller plant down a bit to slow its vertical growth.

Tying down:

Get some string and some size 64 rubber bands (the 1/4" wide ones from a newsagent or stationery store), bend a rubber band in a U shape around the stem about 1/3 the way down and tie a piece of string through the ends of the band. Tie the other end of the string to something like a brick on the floor or a nail in the wall to hold the limb down, but not too far or the stems will crease. The rubber band is gentle on the plant (don't tie it down hard enough to stretch the band) and will still allow movement in the "breeze" from the fan. You will also notice that the smaller buds along the branch/stem will grow a lot larger with this method.

mate how are your plants doing? if they are doing good leave the watering how it is.

15 mins every 4 hours sounds about right for straight perlite IMO, but I don't know, never grown in perlite.

In terms of square pots or round pots, its whatever can give your roots more room. Usually square pots make better use of the space so are more suited to cupboard growing.

Sativa's have skinnier leaves is the main way to tell, what you got looks like a indica/sativa hybrid, mostly indica. Like most indoor strains. Pure indica's tend to have fatter rounder leaves and often are darker green. They are shorter and bushier with much tighter internodes. The buds are fatter and tend to be a bit leafier than sativas, sativa buds tend to mainly have large leaves easy to remove from the buds while indicas have many small leaves thru the buds. But the leaves on indicas are usually quite resinous while sativa resin is usually always mainly on the calyx's (empty seedpods where the hair comes out.). Sativa buds are usually longer up to 2ft long, and skinnier.

Most indoor/hydro is predominately indica.

Pure sativas have very skinny leaves and sharper serrations on the leaves. They have much longer internodes and dont bush out as much, they tend to grow like christmas trees and when you prune them they grow like an upside down octopus. They grow much bigger. A sativa can grow to about 30ft while an indica would be pushing it too make 10ft.

take care

Hey ozmade, you are wasting heaps of light with those brown walls, lining them with panda film or painting them with flat white ceiling paint would substantially increase your yield.
