Green Dream Bloom

Recommended Posts

That guide has some handy stuff in it, I have a hard copy of the whole thing (sent out free by hydro shops), check out The pH of raw water is meaningless . A very interesting read if you use tapwater.

It looks very interesting indeed and there's some fantastic info on that site. It's past 5am here, so I'm off to bed and will have a good read through of it later.

Great nutrient company. The Greendream is designed for use with pure water though, and if you're using tap water I recommend you try the Dutch Treat 1 nutes they do. Very good.

Go you WA nute companies! ;)

In my email to them I mentioned the PH of my tap water and in the reply he didn't say anything about pure water, and with the price of bottled water over here, that would be way too expensive anyway. As far as Dutch Treat 1 is concerned , according to their range there is no such product, so I think I'm going on a Green Dream

Respectfully, I don't think that's quite right Luke, it's true Flairform are hard water specialists coming from the big sand pit state, run by a chemist who knows his shit.

Even though they have a 'hard water' style nute which I have not tried, the Green Dream is a top class nutrient in it's own right, It doesn't degrade quickly and uses 2 types of chelates to uptake the nutes. It can certainly be used with tap water.

The EC here is quite acceptable out of the tap at 0.3 (not as bad as WA), I have used it indoors and outdoors with coco styles as well as recirculating grows and it is good stuff.

There is nothing I'm aware of why it can't be used organically or with beneficial bacteria etc either.

Their web site is full of information, and the grow guide linked up earlier http://www.flairform.com/growers_guide.htm is what I use when I need reference. The slurry technology is explained also.

Try it, you won't be disappointed ;)

I started growing with flairform and have used em for a few years before I got suckered in to trying Cyco. This grow should just about run me out of the cyco and Im changing back to the Flairform I think. Its not too expensive and it doesnt stink like the cyco does.

I never had a prob with deficiencies until i started using something else so what does that say....

I was referring to their range as a whole, their nutes might be safe, but their pH up, pH down and pythoff are not. Generally I regard that as a sign that they dont take beneficial bacteria into account when designing their other products and wont risk it.

Not sure why you think so ? Pythoff is the only non organic product they have.

Thanks for the replies and the feedback guys, I'll definitely be giving their Green Dream range a try, and if I like their product I will probably stay with them for many years.

I've now seen their Dutch Treat nutrient on their site, but it's for hard water, and seeing as the PH of my tap water is 7.6 it's soft water, so will be using Green Dream. I'm impressed with the info on their site, and the quick replies to my mails, while I also I think they're very approachable.

I'm using Autopots with http://www.specialmix.nl/ soil which needs a PH of 5.2- 6.2, and was just reading the Green Dream bloom label downloaded from the site and it states

Hydroponics (e.g NFT,Rockwool)

5-7ml EC 1.6 -2.3ms

Soil/Coconut fibre

4-6ml EC 1.3-2.0ms

Autopots is a hydroponic system and I use rockwool cubes in soil, so should I be feeding it a hydro dosage or a soil dosage? ;)

Set to hydro doseage.

pH does not refer to the 'hardness of water'

Bore water etc will have a lot of carbonates present which read as high EC, I believe some places around WA, SA struggle with an EC around 0.8 to 1.0, this means half the available nutrient 'capacity'? of the nutrient solution is already taken up with unuseable salts if your maximum EC value is to be 1.6 - 2.3 (I don't like venturing past 2.0)

These unuseable salts are actually what causes the pH to keep wanting to climb back towards a reading around pH 8 where the chelating agents drop out and nutrient uptake starts to fall off

Read the Flairform guide a bit closer dude if you really want to understand this stuff, it can be as easy or as complicated as you make it.

Aim for a total E.C. around 1.6 - 1.8

set your pH around 5.8 - 6.0 slightly higher towards 6.5 is cool just keep pulling it back to around 5.8 - 6.0

Flush the cubes/medium every 2 weeks

Happy gardening ;)

I understand that PH refers to alkalinity/acidity of water, so apologies if I didn't make myself clear. I know for a fact that live in a soft water area, and the local hydro shop only sells soft water nutes. The EC of the water in my area is 0.2 EC.

I usually keep the EC to around 1.8 later into flowering before the flush ,rising to about 2.1 with PK 13/14, but because these nutes claim to have 20% more concentration than rivals I wondered which doseage I should give, so thank you for anwering my question.

I've never actually flushed the plants through every two weeks though, esepcially if it's 20 litres of water to a 10 litre pot. Wouldn't this be flushing all the nutes out it, especially the nitrogen the plant stores? I usually just feed the plant PH's water for the last 10 days before harversting and I usually set the PH to about 5.5 and keep it below 6.2.

I realise this is 8 years after the original post but just wanted to post my little review of greendream grow. Recently popped two seeds. One a Purple Trainwreck the other a Chem#4. After 10 days introduced them to 1ml/l green dream + 1ml/l cal. Pretty much straight away they started growing fast and had a great dark green colour to them. The Purple trainwreck required daily intensive training in order to keep her under control! After 40 days have flipped them both to 12/12 as any longer and i think they'd get to big for the space 1100mmX500mm. Had a Lemon Pie Auto that strangely was growing extremely slowly using Tangs AN auto feeding schedule... a schedule i ordinarilly swear by... and with 2ml/l Green Dream it just took off. So yeah in terms of veg i would highly recommend the 1 part Green Dream Grow product!
