anyone know anything about waterproofing lights?

hi does anyones know anything about waterproofing lights,

 

specificaly 200watt + cfl's??

 

i dont want to hinder the lights strength by covering with plastics.

I'll admit it certainly is a puzzling Question , I would like to hear what Billybob has to say tho ... Could be some other bizarre reason we haven't thought of yet

 

I've heard that one should avoid spraying any water onto HID lamps , this sounds very sensible ofc but I would imagine many an accidental spray has occurred before with no negative results , I know I did a few times (accidentally) ...

Could this be what the worry is about? , like mist from foilar feeding etc

(Because it was mentioned that didn't want to effect light intensity so I take that to mean some sort of coating on the Bulb rather the electronic connections?)

 

Bah , I have no idea I wan't to hear the reason behind this question ...

But ffs , stay safe peoples Electricity and water are a volatile mix If in doubt call a Sparky ofc.

And remember to turn off the Powerswitch before you stick your finger into a light socket (Hang on! , Wtf are you sticking your finger in the socket for!?!?!? ) ... Oh , It was dark see ... Zaaap! ... Owch.
