CFL Bulb Adapters

Recommended Posts

THAT pic is different. (note how the lamps appear regularly spaced)

You don't actually need an 'aussie 3 pin' one, plastic or bakelight fittings like that are rarely earthed. You could bend the pins on one of the ones pictured to suit our sockets. (I have done with another yankee plug)

What I don't get is WHY? The powerboard should be outside the grow space, and is mostly undesirable anyway (due to humidity). Just wire up your battens in parallel.

KTM, I can't help but suggest you are 'overthinking' the problem.

You don't need the powerboard in the room.

You don't need dooverlackies.

If you really want those Y piece things the one in the pic is easily available in 'bayonet' style, not sure about availability of Edison Screw in AU.

Earlier you suggest your lamps are simple bayonet. Grab a dozen bayonet battens and wire 'em up in parallel. Job done.

lol

Cool man ... I haven't seen those adapters before lol That is alot easier than wiring up seperate lamp connections no doubt lol

Sorry I can't help you out with where to find them ...

But I think , from memory ... that Fluros don't need to be earthed? lol The 2-Pin ones should work yeh?

To be honest I can't recall ever seeing those Y connectors/adaptors either lol (doesn't mean I haven't , just ask at a Hardware or Lighting Store lol) ... although I've seen the fancier Swivel/Scope type versions , if that makes sense :D

All the best for finding what you need , I'm sure someone will know :D

Cheerz,

Budman :D

P.s. I thought that what Wrexican linked to was fairly close to what your after , but that one seems to only take the specific "EziGrow" Lamps ... A few "universal" CF adapters like that (in the pictures) would be very handy indeed lol

Hey Budman, those adapters on ebay are to plug a normal HPS lamp holder into a normal plug, instead of into the ballast, this only works for the 130watt fluros that have the same screw as HPS lamps but dont need a ballast.

I'm also trying to find out where to buy those Y connectors/adaptors and it seems when you search on Google nothing comes up related to these. This is a good picture I found online of how they work:

I want them to fit the standard screw type CFL bulbs as well. I would really appreciate it if someone knows where to buy those online or at a department store.
