Using LED lights

Anyone out there used leds for growing before and what sort of results have you had.

They seem to come in 90w, 300w, 600w and claim good results with minimum power consumption.

I know they dont have the aus safety tick thats why the shops arent selling them??????????????

haven't used 'em m'self but while looking around recently I'd have to suggest that so far LED is little used.

 

Read an interesting thread (somewhere, google it) about using LED to supplement other lights. LED's are also used for seedlings/cuttings by a reasonable number of people, not popular though.

Im thinking about buying 2 90 w ufos for veg light will prob to a test to see how the do budding also

I grew tomatoes successfully with LED + cfl as a test of my system. Now trying on skunk. I lost the first seedlings from improper leftover nutes in water (yes I know it was slack). So far now growing 1 week old seedling, growing very fast, big leaves and short stork. First 2 pair of leaves biggest I've ever seen, third pair just starting. I've heard plenty of stories about it being great for veg, crap for bud but I've decided that I'd like to find out for myself. I'm using 1 x 90w LED and 2 x 45w cfl 6400KShall keep you posted
