Both my dogs come up for a sniff of the good shit and end up flaking out on the couch with me when ever I light up a joint and the cat is generally sitting on the arm of the chair right beside me. They seem to love it. That said, I'm not trapping them in the room with me. They're free to go outside or elsewhere.

There's always one popping up from time to time. Jail the prick. Humans or animals should not be tortured. My dog loved going to the beach with me, home time would be a scoob in the car, her window was always down enough to stick her head out, she only did it when I had finished the scoob.
