post-34574-1245750662_thumb.jpghey guys

im New to the growing indoors thing and i was just wondering if i could get some tips for my first grow

It started life as a seedling in my closet, growing under a 600w hps light with no fresh air and temps were up around 90+ the light was inconsistant due to having to turn it of wen we had visitors, witch also only allowed me to have it on 12/12 it was like this for the first month and a bit

i have since learned a few things ,i think :).

-I have moved it to a place that has fresh air circulated with a fan temps are down to about 78-85 with light on

-still using the 600w hps light at about 9 inches above the plant

-water wenever the soil looks a lil dry,try not to over water mayb bowt 250ml every 2 days

-not sure on the soil but it was brought from the shop just not sure wat it was now, wasnt anything special

-also jst introduced yates seaweed booster to my plant, use bowt every 2 weeks now to the bottle specs

-still have my plant on 12/12 lighting

Az you could imagine theys plants started life very slowly,And i was just wondering if its stll worth growing??

Also after anymore tips to help me owt to keep it growing strong n healthy

An was wondering if i should be able to tell the sex of the plant yet?

Plant is now 2 months old from seed

First thing your doing wrong is the type of light you have, HPS 600W is a great and powerful light but for vegetive growth isnt that good since its light spectrum is for flowering you need a metal halide which is a blue spectrum perfect for vegetive growth.

Second thing is dont let anybody tell you that a light/dark period of 12/12 will put your plants into flowering, it wont. When you start a plant on 12/12 it will think this is the longest part of the day, the only reason peoples plants go into flower when they put it on 12/12 is because they had there plants set to a higher light period (usually 18/6) and now make the plant think its changing seasons.

Its bad to have youre plants confused it will stress them out and you will have stunted growth like you are experiencing.

So never turn on and off your lights have them set to a proper light cycle or you will continue having problems

Sorry I didn't imply it as a personal attack.

Ok well 6" is too close for a 600hps unless perhaps in a cooltube. Also that soil looks like pine bark? Perhaps ditch that when you transplant into bigger pot and get some coco and hydro nutrients. Or maybe just do that ASAP :)

Unless that is if you want to go organic, in which case you will need a compost bin/etc and do the dirty and really prepare your soil with everything it needs.

Goodluck
