post-34574-1245750662_thumb.jpghey guys

im New to the growing indoors thing and i was just wondering if i could get some tips for my first grow

It started life as a seedling in my closet, growing under a 600w hps light with no fresh air and temps were up around 90+ the light was inconsistant due to having to turn it of wen we had visitors, witch also only allowed me to have it on 12/12 it was like this for the first month and a bit

i have since learned a few things ,i think :xcited:.

-I have moved it to a place that has fresh air circulated with a fan temps are down to about 78-85 with light on

-still using the 600w hps light at about 9 inches above the plant

-water wenever the soil looks a lil dry,try not to over water mayb bowt 250ml every 2 days

-not sure on the soil but it was brought from the shop just not sure wat it was now, wasnt anything special

-also jst introduced yates seaweed booster to my plant, use bowt every 2 weeks now to the bottle specs

-still have my plant on 12/12 lighting

Az you could imagine theys plants started life very slowly,And i was just wondering if its stll worth growing??

Also after anymore tips to help me owt to keep it growing strong n healthy

An was wondering if i should be able to tell the sex of the plant yet?

Plant is now 2 months old from seed

AWWWW, ain't she cute ;-)

HINT: If I was a nark I could probably pick up enought identifying marks off your photo to make a good stab at fingerprint ID.

Soil indoors has its own set of problems. I believe good soil and minimum additives to be a reasonable plan. Growth is expected to be slower than other media alternatives but (it is my belief that) trace elements and a certain 'robustness' plants grown in soil acquire should allow reasonable harvest.

Watch out for 'salt marks', areas of the pot's side that form a crust. If these form you are likely feeding her too much.

TTBOMK it is difficult to overfeed with emulsions (seaweed or similar). These are also not however 'full plant food'. You are basically relying on the soil for feeding.

veg you want 18/6 (actually, I'm just now trying 19/5 and may move to 20/4). I think the downtime is important, I'm just not sure HOW MUCH DOWNTIME.

12/12 will force the plant (autoflower or not) into early flowering. Young bud, not particularly thick, probably smokable but not really what you are after.

wens (sic) a good time to take clones?

ANY time in the vegetative cycle. You can take clones after entering flowering but they then have an uphill battle going back to veg, take longer.

There's a thread in this site concerning SCROG and taking 'woody' cuttings I still have to wrap my head around. The poster (and his evident EXCELLENT result) suggest taking tall and meaty cuttings and almost immediately putting them into flower. Seems to work, for him at least.

Me? I prefer to take cuttings before the cut is getting to the 'woody' stage. I also cut half of any big leaves and pinch out the growing tip. There also seems to be some discrepancy of opinion concerning whether light in the 1st 24hrs should be on or off. I clone under 18/6.

Sorry not to be able to say 'do this particular thing' or 'this particular thing' but that's not what I'm particularly about. IMHO growing grass is easy, growing good grass slightly less easy, growing great grass requires talent and dedication.

post-34574-1245758665_thumb.jpghmm yes i will have to do abit of experementing with that

i have another pic here just to confirm that i cant tell the sex yet,im not sure if wat im seeing are the stipules or pistals :) ,i doupt you can tell much from this pic but smeone might be able to point something out that a novice eye cant see

actually i dnt think you can see them at all in the pic but,i was under the imprestion that stipules are meant to be green and the things im seeing are white or is that wat stipules look like in there early stages?
