I need a kit

Recommended Posts

Im in the process of building a stealth cab and Im ready to start getting all the lights, fans and such.

I spotted the 'growlush' one on ebay for 120 (250hps ballast & globe and a reflector) from aussieponics.

Anyone have any experience with this brand or aussieponics?

Is it possible to use the 250hps for veg aswell as flower?

I also plan on getting one of those 150mm by 400mm cooltubes and building a reflector around it any ideas?

Now for the fans, any reccomendations for a good quiet brand?

There's quite a bit of feedback regarding Aussieponics on this site. Do a search and read up on them before you buy is my advice.

Personally I've had no issues with the 600W Digital HPS kit I bought from them a while back but their delivery and invoicing is anything BUT stealthy!

As for the 250W HPS, others are probably better equipped to answer this but there's a calculation (again somewhere on this site...search) that shows you what you can expect (yield-wise) from certain wattage. Basically, the greater the wattage, the greater the yield.

I've just gone through the fan research/buying phase and I guess it depends on whether or not you'll be connecting it to a carbon filter. If a carbon filter is on your shopping list you'll need (most likely) either a centrifugal (loud) or mixed-flow (quieter) fan. If it's a small filter then you could probably get away with an in-line fan I guess. I ended up buying a 150mm Westaflex Mixed-Flow which is now connected to a 150mm Phat Filter carbon filter. If noise is a concern then you may also want to look at insulated ducting and/or a fan speed controller.

I picked up the fan for $130. My filter is 150mmx500mm and it's 100% effective in my grow space.

As for stealth...well yeah, there's nothing illegal about buying hydro gear but in my opinion it peaks peoples interest and why draw any sort of attention to yourself. I'd prefer if my invoice had been labeled as "generic company name" and the box the stuff came in not labeled "Growlush" :xcited:

Not may people use a 250w HPS ,,,,,,,,,,,gr4ossly underestimated they are.

Yes but make sure it is a High Pressure sodium lamp & balast.

I also plan on getting one of those 150mm by 400mm cooltubes and building a reflector around it any ideas?

I don't know how big your stelth box is so nothing i can add at this point.

Now for the fans, any reccomendations for a good quiet brand?

A fan depends on your need for total stelth (invisible), hidden stelth (undetectable) just stelth (very quiet) ect.....& the size and typ of odor control. If your cupboard , box, area (grow space) is small then a fan is determined by your area,

Best of luck - Tip : Go SCROG with a 250 HPS.

:)

Nitty.

How big is you space or have i missed it.

I picked my fan up on eBay. Half the reason I went for an mixed-flow fan was that they're less noisy than centrifugal. There's very little in the way of fan noise itself....it's mainly the air movement that causes the noise. To answer your question and put it in perspective, I can talk in my normal speaking voice and be clearly heard over the noise of the fan.
