Is it normal for PH to climb overnite

Recommended Posts

Oh and my res is also dwc style, after i've set my 50L res to 5.8, I can leave it for 5 days before it's 2/3 empty and the ph is still around 6. I do a top up with 2L bottles - each bottle gets 3 drops of ph down - and that keeps the res exactly where I want it. I could stop checking if I wanted as i've got the ratios down pat - I only check with the pen for verification now but I really suggest getting the good stuff.

Calaman it's a few of my hash screens with the interchangeable frame on top.

Used to have the same thing with my recirculating system, would rise overnight every time. What nutes u using? I had all sorts of trouble with canna nutes and PH.

i have only ever used canna nutes, i have never had encountered a problem like this.

i have used canna soil nutes

i have used canna hydroponics nutes

no problems, ever...!

Go get a $12 of ph down! they last for ever.... I swear i've now used thousands of drops and it's still half full. (takes ~30 drops for my 50L res)

Too right mate, they last for bloody ever ! since day one (many years ago) i have used PH up and PH down solutions with my water, very powerful stuff when u start out with just tap water, but the more solution u put in the res, be it nutes or up/down, the more of a buffer you create.

After you have added your nutes and played the PH up/down game (not fun) there is enough of a buffer in the water for not only the PH to remain slightly more stable but each drop of PH up/down you add from this point on is not as strong as it was when the res contained only tap water.

Half fill tank........add about a squirt of ph down........add nutes......add silica.......add anything else.....fill.....take cf/ph .....smoke bongs for 20 mins.......re-test.......if need more adjustment......more bongs....stumble inside.

What I'm trying to say.......mix well.....wait 20 mins for prop reading.

guys recric what cave do you dwell in try run to waste no ph shift. I was told once that recirc is like crackin a fresh beer drinkin it today then pissin back in the can and drinkin from it for a week how much goodness is going to be left in the can ur plants use up most of ur nuts in the first 2 days then it is just shit goin back in ur tank so addin ph up or down is not really goin to help i wouldnt think. That is why ur plants look so good after flushin it is the first time in a week they have had anything fresh. Change to run to waste and watch ur results go thru the roof!!!!!!

I'm sorry dark but you are a dickhead.

You have no idea what your talking about and quote mates.

So your saying that the plants use all nutes in 24hrs yet my CF meter says otherwise. PH can rise rise all fall due to micro-beneficial root zone activity. It could also be attributed to the local tap water.

So how about you do us all a favour......stick your head back up your arse and comment only on things you know....not what you mates tell you.

We sometimes forget we are mixing chemicals together, have a read of this. pH swing is one that isn't easy to answer as there are a few variables in regards to water quality across Australia.

Chato's right, ditch the vinegar, it's will cause more problems than it fixes, and I agree the old pH down does go off over time.

lmao at last post flatcat lol
