Is it normal for PH to climb overnite

Recommended Posts

Got a pic of ya system? Chasing ph is a bitch and has turned many a peep off dwc.

What type of ph down are you using, how old is it and how much do you need to add?

What's the starting ph of your water? What ppm;s you running and how old are the plants?

Have you flushed an does it fluctuate when only on plain water?

Chasin PH definately is a bitch. I'll dump the perlite on wednesday when i can get to the shop again.and get some clay balls? I thought perlite was nuetral?...

Im using white vinegar for down. Ive always used it and never had probs before, tho ive never used in in dwc. 60L res, to bring it down to -6 i need about 40ml.

Tap water is 7.2 but i run it thru a carbon filter first - got a decent under sink model.

Plants are from seed, put in on the 26/5. Been at mates place cause i had law trouble and only bought em home on friday.

My camera is shot but there still in the baby buckets, 4plants to a 40ltr tub, feeder rings on top, 10mins every 2 hours.

Ive only just put em in and was planning on flushing every7 days-due on friday. I actually considered givin em a mother of a flush today cause I thought something had to be bringing it up...

Just ordered a bluelab trungeon so i cant tell you EC/PPM yet, ask me tomorrow...

Using cyco, 2.5ml per litre, 1ml ltr B1 boost.

Similar story to flatcat_auz .... I haven't bothered with a PH meter for years, I found playing around with PH just stuffed the grow up. Tap water here is also ~7.2 I used rockwool for about 10 years and recently switched to Clay pellets, no problems with either.

The only time I remember the PH rising overnight like calaman was when I did use the meter and PH down. I was putting the PH down in on a daily basis and all I got out of it was a crap yield.

Since I stopped stuffing around with it the PH has always remained stable and the plants have not suffered in any way.

I think PH is highly over rated, looking through the threads I see lots of people stuffing up their crops because they keep playing around with it.

Yeah think Gibbo? As i said earlier, I wondered if the vinegar was only temp however I thought that it wasnt possible for it to be temporary. I got some Sodium biphosphate for the fish tank, be ok wont it?

I'd love to use clayballs but theyre so fucking expensive!!!

shouldn;t chase ph but have to do it to know not to do it :bongon:

ditch the vinegar and the feeder rings.

perlite is just messy.

trying using nutes to bring your ph down then add a few drops of ph down to get it drop more if you need. be better when ya have your truncheon so you don;t overdo the nutes.

peace

I do dump my res every 10 days.......24-36 fresh only and then full nute. I will occassionally go early if something is bugging me but for only 2 plants I think 10 days is ok.I use ph & down from hydro shop. Also got blue lab truncheon.

My CF for 10 days rarely moves.......it does drop but normally only a point (2.1-2.0 for example).I don't want to hi-jack your thread about meters etc but once everything is in tune the will be day's of.....why do I need the meters. You get a feel of your system. What you don't plan for is problems and if you have meters you can quickly rule out a range of issue's without having to dump.....flush.....wait......if you suspect problems related to cf and ph.

You can probably guess I'm pro meters, my space is mylar cladded (fuken dear shit that) intake and centraugal fan,

125 cfl mother/grow, 600w son-t, re-circulating sys and I've got 2 mates with white paint, desk fan, no meters, fucken handwatered pumpen out the primo.

Cunts.

Thats wot ive just done fatcat, I used to only have the one room but now ive moved up and expanded. Got the main flower room under 4 by 600 with cooling and extraction and the veg under 1 by400. And my niffty little clone box-mate bought a packing crate home and i lined it with styrofoam - works a treat.
