Watering

Hey all i have just finnished setting up my watering system, i am doing a run to waste system, i have a 30lt tank that i have submerged pump (500lph with a head height of 1.1m)running strait into a drip system an a timer, now what i need to find out is how long to leave the pump on to give it x amount of water, what is best amount to give them or will i have to work it out by just trying diffrent amounts i was thinkind around the two liters, 1 liter in the morning and 1 in the afternoon dose this sound ok but i am not sure so any help would be grate :D

i would check out the overgrow faq section on that one. i can't really answer myself. i know that there is some debate as to the best timing, but you should find some good info over there. when you get growing then you will figure out the best methods by playing around with it a bit. just keep in mind that overwatering can cause you a sh*tload of greif.

Running to waste: 30 minutes on hour off.

 

That will give the plants 250 litres of nutrient for the 1 1/2 hours. That's usually enough for around 5 - 8 plants. It also depends on your climate. If you're in a colder climate a little less will satisfy, or in a hotter climate a little more due to evaporation etc will suffice.
