Makeshift CO2

SIMPLE & EASY CO2

I thought about this last night.

For alot of people access to CO2 can be difficult or you might just not know where to get it.

Well you could get it from the supermarket yes the supermarket in any Aussie state.

The two major ingredients for this simple chemical reaction are baking soda and..........you named it vinegar, putting these to together cause a chemical reaction which results in CO2 being released.

You can come up with whatever method of construction you like to set it up.

1. What i did was get two 1lt bottles, two ice cream containers and two 3lt milk bottles.

2. Cut the bottom of the milk bottles off this will be used to hold your baking soda.

3. Then because i was too lazy to make a couple of stands for my bottles i cut a hole in the middle of each ice cream container just big enough to get the opening of the bottle into. puncture as many holes as you like into the bottom of the ice cream containers (not too many, you dont want it to colapse).

4. Now poke two holes into the lids of each 1lt bottle small enough to allow vinegar to drip slowly out of it.

5. put the hole at the bottom of the ice cream container on the opening of the bottle and screw the lid on tigh so the ice cream container is not wobbly and your done a simple CO2 system.

The end result should have vinegar in each bottle and baking soda in the milk containers (how much is up to you), the ice cream container on top of the bottle acts as a stand when you put it up side down over the milk carton and releases the vinegar slowly onto the baking soda thus creating CO2 which is released out of the pre puntured holes in the ice cream containers.

This is only for small spaces, larger spaces would take alot more supplies and it would probably be cheaper getting actual CO2 bottles.

Hey you might have to fill it up regulary but least you can get the stuff easy enough without it being suspicious, and it took me all of a an hour to think of so yeah quick and simple what more can i say.
