Hemp Party Membership

DECLARATION OF PARTY MEMBERSHIP

To join the HEMP Party you may not already be a member of another Australian political party. You must be currently enrolled to vote. Because the membership will be verified to ensure it is a legitimate political party with a genuine membership, you must be prepared to keep your electoral details up to date, and answer any query from the Australian Electoral Commission as to the correctness of those details. Twenty lucky members will be queried by the AEC to verify our membership.

Without a sitting member a party must re-register for each election. For registration to be successful, members must be committed, otherwise registration will probably fail. Please be strong. Please register, and keep your address up to date.

Print them out. Fill them in, matching your voter registration details. Then...

I e-mailed Hemp SA today, I'll let you all know if I hear back. Offered to drop leaflets for them. I must say though, I've e-mailed them in the past and heard nothing back, we'll see aye. You lot may be interested in the "Free Australia" party that is emerging in SA at the moment. It came about as a response to the anti association laws that have been past in SA supposedly targeting outlaw bikies. Here is a link to an answer in their FAQ page regarding drugs. I cannot find a specific policy on their site about cannabis but this is interesting.

I might add that although this party has nothing to do really with drug law reform, their views on drugs seem to be at least as lenient as the greens and having looked through their policies on water conservation and housing for the poor, not to mention the stuff they say about bringing Australia back to its laid back lifestyle, I like alot of what I've read..

Below is an e-mail I just sent to Paul Kuhn of Free Australia (my name removed for obvious reasons)

Good afternoon.

My name is ********. I have been deeply disturbed with political events that have occurred in this state and on a federal level on all sorts of issues over the last decade or so. It literally gets me down at times. I think the Rann government is really starting to loose the plot recently though. I will admit straight out that I am a recreational cannabis user and I associate with people who cultivate cannabis hydroponically and outdoors for personal use. I am a firm believer that we, as functional, intelligent adults should have the right to partake in our chosen vice as well as supply ourselves with clean, unadulterated product whilst being free of fear from persecution and incarceration. I also believe that the cannabis industry in South Australia has become a much more sinister scene since the old 10 plant decriminalisation laws were repealed.

I am asking you what Free Australia's views and or policies are regarding cannabis in particular, as well as the recent proposed Hydroponic Industry Control Bill 2009? I would be very interested to hear from you and regardless, I will be giving my vote to Free Australia and the Greens. As a footnote, would you be happy for your reply to be posted on an online Australian Cannabis community forum? If not please let me know in your reply and I will not post it.

Yours Sincerely

**********

If he replies and gives me permission to post it here, I will :bongon:

I heard back from FREE Australia. I think that may warrent a thread on its own however. Radic, do you know much about HEMP SA. I have e-mailed them on so many occasions simply asking if anyones there and have not heard a thing. I would be interested in helping them in simple ways if they are still there but I dont know, they seem very innactive, either that or they no longer exist.

Hi Radic

I was wondering if there are any membership fees to join the federal/national HEMP party? I've had a look at the membership form but there wasn't any info about fees. (Your post mentioned paying fees set by the Federal Council).

Thanks for posting the info - my wife and I are keen to join and we're not afraid to let the AEC know. Belonging to a political party doesn't actually prove anything - just that you agree with and support the party's policies/views. This country really needs to change. Democracy doesn't actually exist here in practice.

:D
