Green lights

How can I go in my grow room when the lights are off to foliar feed if I cannot turn on the light?

Answer: I would not recommend going into a grow room when the lights are off, however if you most go in when it is supposed to be dark I would use a green light. Plants are green so they do not see green. HOWEVER we have done an experiment & if you leave the green light on all the time when the lights are supposed to be off the plants will continue to grow so do NOT leave the green light on when you do not need it.

I heard this years ago about 'green globes'.It's my understanding that because chlorophyll is green it struggles to absorb the green light spectrum. If I used one I would use it only when needed and i would make sure that all other light is blocked out before opening doors.

very interesting topic dirtyman ... i have in the past used a low-wattage green bulb whilst my plants were in growth and flowering stage during the plants night-time to root about in the G-room on rare occasions .. i dont make a habit of it , even though nothing adverse happened and i would never use a normal light during flower-time night periods ..

if its during the growth stage of the plants life i dont think it matters very much at all ..

to us the plant looks green in colour cause the pigment in chlorophyll is green, this actually reflects the green spectrum of light that strikes it, so a low-wattage green light is not enuf to activate photosynthesis, therefore the plant continues to 'sleep', trhe plant just cannot utilize the green wavelenght ...

the plant can and does absorb all other wavelenghts of light and it is this that excites the cells to produce sugar for growth ..

so during growth period yea go for it with a low-watt green light to do ya foliar feeds

during flower you might not want to do too much foliar feeding cause it promotes high humidity and has the chance to wet the buds and start mould ? .. i dunno im just suggesting that might happen?

well thats just my take on the subject

:D
