30x hand held microscope

Recommended Posts

THIS WORKS, I've made them heaps of times:

get a piece of alfoil, using a pin make a neat round hole in it, flat on both sides with no burrs.

Make sure that when you hold it up to the lights it casts a neat, even round circle of light.

Now you need a very brightly lit place - say how about a fully lit growroom! Because this only works in very bright light.

Hold the alfoil up to your eye so that you can see through the little hole. Hold the object you want to magnify in the full light, and also very close - about an inch from the alfoil in front of your eye. You will see the object enlarged, clear as, and enormous!!

It takes practice to do this but once you've got it you'll never forget as its so amazing.

It works because the small hole increases the depth of field (puts more stuff into focus) so that you can hold something very near your eye and still see it in focus. However because hardly any light gets through the tiny hole, you need to put the object you look at in a very bright light.

THis is SOOO easy to do that just give it a go before you reply. I kid you not you will be amazed!!

Now you can inspect your beloved plants down to the tiniest detail
