chopping your tall indoor plants in half

hey guys i no a few people who grow dope indoors and some grow tall plants and others grow short plants and some of the blokes who grow the tall plants told me they cut them in half because the top has had all the light and is ready while the lower half is still thin and coverd in white hairs so they put them back on nutes and let em grow for a few more weeks and they fill out and go koota but i have never seen for my self and i have an indoor plant that was 6 foot 5 i just cut in half because the top half was ready but the bottom looks so premmy and i have put it back on nutes and lowerd the light. so i geuss what i wanna no is , is it true does it work or am i waisting my time

It's not a waste of time dirtyman, the lower buds will ripen more, but they won't pack on a great deal more weight. Especially if you've been flushing as the plant would be starving at this point, you should probably start back on a 1/2 strength dose of ferts, feed for about a week and then re-flush, that should be enough for them to ripen. Don't lower the lights too close, too fast because the lower branches will burn easily, they've been a long way from the heat.
