Why not to use bug bombs

*** Why not to use bug bombs ***

Bug bombs are some times used by cannabis growers to get rid of various infestations. They should not be - full stop

Why? Even if you believe with all your heart and mind that chemical companies never lie to us and that they are safe when used as directed (check on how Michael J Fox got his parkensons disease) they are not intended for use on anything that is to be put into the human body. Spraying bug bomb poisons on your cannabis and then smoking it is very very bad for you. People should not inhale burning pesticide or eat it either.

In point of fact, the instructions on bug bombs (and other pesticides) say very plainly not to let them contact any food or anything that you eat off of, or put food onto, or into. You are supposed to put away all food first, and then make very certain to thoroughly clean off all food surfaces after you use the stuff.

Why? Because pesticides are neurotoxins (they attack the nervous system) and there is no actual difference between the nervous system of a spider mite, and that of a human. In point of fact, the first manufactured pesticides were originally developed for use as chemical warfare agents during the time between WWI and WWII in Germany. They were intended for use in the killing of people. Since that was illegal research (Germany had been banned from doing any military research or having a military after WWI), the research needed a cover story...and it was agriculture. After WWII, the USA used the same method (it is for agriculture...really) as a cover story for the production of organochlorine and organophosphate based nerve agents (which are essentially just stronger versions of commercial pesticides).

Think about this the next time you are tempted to take a short cut on dealing with a pest infestation. Then have a good read online about how dangerous pesticides really are. DO a google search on

"pesticide" and "alligator" and you will find the study that showed that amounts of pesticides that are FAR too small for any human method to measure, still cause extreme birth defects in the penises of newly hatched male alligators (rendering them effectively sterile). Look up the sterility rates in the farm belts in the USA (the most sterile American men live in the major farming areas). Look up the effects on the children of the migrant Mexican workers who harvest and tend a lot of the food crops in North America. I saw a documentary when they checked the health (including the mental development and motor skills) of the children in villages just over the border in Mexico (all of them were migrant labour for farms) and the kids were so screwed up that most of them were unable to catch a large soft ball thrown to them very gently.

Do you really want that in your body? In the bodies of your friends? In the body of a sick person who is using it for medication (imagine getting cancer from the pesticides on the pot you took in order to cope with the "CHEMO" that you were on because of the cancer you got from some other damned thing)?

Think about your choices and the effects they will have first (before you spray your cannabis), and please do not take the easy way out. Hospitals check cannabis smokers these days SPECIFICALLY for exposure to pesticides because of the "bug bomb" practice. You would be amazed how many people get treated every year, for exposure to nasty chemical poisons that were on their substance of choice. This stuff can make a perfectly healthy person very very ill. Now imagine what it can do to a person with AIDS, MS, or worst of all - the pain from serious liver disease (you need a very good liver to have any chance of getting that stuff out of your body) or the crappy ass and very painful symptoms of "Multiple Chemical Sensitivity/Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome".

There are other ways to handle problems. You can use soapy water where the water was used to boil cayenne peppers. There are certified organic bug killers on the market (like neem oil). There is always a better way.

If you insist on spraying your cannabis, please do other people a favour and use all of it yourself. Adult humans have the inalienable right to be stupid.

Was that a cut and paste? If so give credit to the author.

Bug bombs are great for inbetween crops to keep your grow room pest free. After u have treated a grow room, just wash down the walls and floor as per usual.

Using it while your growing, well thats another story and u would have to have rocks in your head!

A little common sense goes along way!
