Hydroponics Setup

Hey hows it going.

 

Well i can spend up to $500 AUD dollars or so...

 

Well i am looking for something which will include the following.

Main lighting area with HID lighting up to 1000 watts..

Mylar or reflective film on all the sides and roof to produce more light.

3 Or More plants growing under the 1 light.

Automatic watering system so i dont have to water as much only water when its needed.

What do you think is the best watering system drip, ebb, flow or any others ?

Or should i go a NFT system ??

 

A Water timer and checker,PH checker (Any other checkers ?)

Medium either Rockwool or Cocco Canna

 

Grow space will probaly be about 3-4 ft in width by 6ft or so.

On the top shelf have my ballast, my fluorescent lights for cuttings and germinating.

Have the fan blowing air in and out and also a fan cooler for the HID lighting.

 

Thats all i can think of at the moment.

What do you think ?

I would recommend this Thread for starters. WIthen the last week i have completely set this up and ahve had plants in the setup for 6 days now. IF u have any questions please feel free to PM me about them as i have probbably already encounterd your difficultys. :-D PLease bear in mind that i didnt put the filler reserve in my setup that will come later down the line.

Just wondering what is an autopot ?

Just someone said that they are good i just need to know are they good and what they do.

 

What are the different types of hydroponic systems EBB n Flow, Drip, NFT and any others.

If someone can say the difference and also others i will be very thankfull.

 

What area of space do you have in mind ?

Well i am hoping something about 1 1/2 Metres High.

 

What are its dimensions (Width And Height).

1 1/2 Metres Height - 1 Metre Wide.

 

What is your budget ?

About 500 Aud dollars.

 

 

A HID Light kit (Metal Halide MH or High Pressure Sodium HPS).

What do you suggest for a grow room that size growing say 4 plants max ?

 

Fans.

Do i need a fan in the bottom to let the air in and one at top letting air out is that right or .. ?

 

Pots Or Buckets system or Top and Bottom system.

What do you think is best Top n Bottom system looks neater and easier, but buckets i have got told are better what do you think ?

 

Some Seeds.

Well i will get them when i get my setup going good, money has to go towards the system first.

 

Your Medium.

Most likely i will use rockwool if i am using a top n bottom system or if i am using buckets i would use those pebbles - Canna Coco etc ?

 

Guages

What guages do i need eg - PH and TDS.

 

Pump.

What is the best pumps to use and what wattage etc ?

 

Heater.

What is the best heater to use and what heat etc ?

 

Reflective Material.

What is the best reflective material to use ?

 

Carbon Filter

Should i make my own or buy one for around $400 to purify the air ?

 

How much wattage do i need per square foot ?

As i need to know.

i think autopot thingys suck..seriously.. i used one but i threw everything in the rubbish it pissed me off so bad..hehe... had to keep checking the valve..it always got stuck and wouldn't dish out anymore nutrient. It was so annoying i might have ended up with an anxiety disorder from it..

i personally prefer dwc over all other methods.. as to fans, I need mine blowing directly on the plants tops around where they're growing.

rovelive, many of your questions have already been answered in these forums, a little research and you will find them.

 

Also asking so many questions in one go can put people off answering.

if you are going to wait until everything is setup before getting some mj genetics then better off getting something from spc.. email stonedas and ask him what clones are available..
