ozone generators - lamp type

yeah see thats wot it was - non hydro shop.

I was looking round the net trying to find a replacement lamp for my 40W generator. I didnt want to have pay NewAge Hydro $110+20 postage for one but I cant find it anywhere else. So, to condense this down somewhat, after emailing all and sundry, then getting refered from china, to england, to gosford I finally had to ring some fella (shits me when you cant just do it by email!) and he asks me whats it for. However, this is where I find out that ive chased half way round the world for nothing!, I discover he thinks i want a UV bulb. Plus, all the suppliers Ive emailed in china think I want a UV bulb too.

Bloody idiots, if i wanted a uv bulb i would say uv bulb, not lamp for 40w ozone generator. So NOW, i think im guna have to spend 130 with newage as i cant find what i want anywahere.

Thankgod i wasnt paying for fonecalls and it was only email....

Anyone know where i can get a lamp for a 40w O3 Gen? 16mm dia, 540mm long, 2 pins BOTH ends???????

calaman i have used ozone to eliminate smells from my G-room but in the end i found it too dangerous for my health and when i got a real stinking strain it was not 100% effective ... i still have a tube here but its 590mm long i just used it ina standard fluro fitting inside of exhaust ducting .. the place where i bought it has closed down too

what a bummer

 

so im wondering if you really do need such an item or is there a better alternative

I "believe" i need it as I have sealing problems and carbon just aint possible at the moment. I'm going to be rebuilding my room at the end of this current run where i will be able to use carbon but, when it comes down to it, i actually have not had any probs with ozone as to effectiveness.

My next build is going in the spare room, vented into the ceiling thru the manhole and out under the eaves. I was going to use O3 then too but was leaving the option open in case i need others.

I bought the unit on ebay for $20 which i still belive is a steal even though im having dramas with the lamp. Tho its still working it has black stains at either end. The unit is 700mm long, aluminium, with the fan on the end - homebrand.

Did you say you used it in a normal fluro fitting? I wondered if that'd work. Do you still use it? If you wana get rid of it PM me..

It doesnt have to be 540long, thats the one in it. Im considering buying a growlush one for 40 from aussieponics (HA! after wingeing bout em so much in another thread!!) and its only 400 long if i remember correctly. I was thinking the important thing is it being 40W

i think theres 20w and 40w gobes avaliable from most hydroponic shops just tell them what wattage u need

your a dodgy fucker when i was looking on the market for a ozone gene the guy at one of my local shops tryed fitting the 20w lamp to a 1 foot long fluro it didnt work luckly i think its bloody unsafe as u say i also pissed off my plate type ozone gene there just to dangerous so i agree with ya Frazz

Trying to source a lamp for my ozone generator and just got put on the spot when he asked me what I used it for. What can you say? One of the small ones that have the internal airpump are easy - you can say a miriad of things, but a large 700mm unit with the fan on the end that uses a lamp - what can you say? its got me stuffed!

What can you say?

It has no brand or manufacture location or anything on it. It just says Ozone Generator 40W and some german Achtung!!!
