g'day; i used 4 X 4foot grolux tubes X 40watts each tube,great for clones and seedlings.on shelf, area of 12 sq feet approx.

i use 2 X 5foot grolux fluoro tubes for mothers and veging clones.40watts each tube.area of 18 sq feet approx.

you can keep a mother plant growing under fluoro indefinately.

you can use normal tubes also, is best to use 1X warm white and 1X cool white side by side.always go for maximum wattage possible, avoid 'powermiser' tubes if possible.

safest place to buy grolux tubes is pet shop or aquariums shop.

you can also flower with fluoro tubes on shelf setup too.

fluoro was used very successfully before HID's were developed.

Have you guys seen them NASA flouros?? they're a flat panel instead of a round tube. Anyway they grew some spinach or some shit and they blew away any HID lamps. We'll all be throwing out our HID's and buying flouro's or LED's in a few years.

 

Anyway, back to the point, Hydro shops are fucking shit. All they care about is money, and the shittier people grow, the more they will need to buy.

These guys think stoners are stupid.

All I buy from hydro-stores is nutes and bulbs. Most of my shopping is done at Aquarium and hardware stores.

Just think, shops main objective is to sell there products so any questions u ask them thre answers are gonna include you buying there most expensive products!!!

well hows this a hydro store i know very well sell 2 products same bottle similar lables dosnt push either of them one is $10 and the other is $15 now ppl try both of them he says and come back and say that the $15 kicks ass on the $10 bottle.now because they make there own ferts they could do this but both bottles are exactly the same product.i think also that ppl just think that the most expensive products are the best.so i think it helps to have a bit of an idea of what your after before you go into a hydro store so you just get what you need and you know that is going to work.happy herb.

I thought so cause i currently have like 20 plants under a 400watt and there going fine. I think i need more light but things seem to be moving alon quite nicely
