Quietest CENTRIFUGAL Fan around 200mm-250mm

Recommended Posts

I'm also looking into picking up a centrifugal fan for use with an as yet un-purchased carbon filter. Noise is always a concern but I'm trying to gauge just how loud one of these things are. Are we talking lawnmower loud? If so, then I'm going to have to look at a silencer.

Has anyone used the Can-Fan Max range of fans? From the marketing fluff they appear to use the carbon filter as a muffler by re-routing airflow. There's details here..

I'd rather spend the extra cash on something that's outright quiet rather than try to silence something later.

Im no expert , but ALL the centrifugal fans Ive looked at are LOUD ,, but thats a by product of them doing the job they are meant to do.. which is moving air while under pressure/restriction caused by a carbon filter etc..

Ive got a 100mm Ezi AIR centri, sucking thru a 100mm Mountain Air CF , & its LOUD .. no two ways about it.. about the same as a 150mm Westaflex, which is a very popular fan, & nowhere near big enuff for a LARGE grow room imo.

Acoustic ducting , baffle boxes , mufflers , silencers & speed controllers seem the only way to quell the noise,, which is something Im going thru myself atm .. Im midway thru my build , but Im confident a combination of these controls can ensure a stealthy solution. :peace:

Go D.I.Y. , its not rocket science , just a lot of padding :shy:

shirty, do u have the white plastic EZI fan or the grey metal EZI fan as the EZI range makes 2x 100mm centrifugal fans this way if u tell us people can a void the loudest of the two
