Scouting for wild stealth grow spots.

Recommended Posts

I'm planning to try grow a few plants along near where I live. I live in a sorta city area though so bush areas are out of the question. It's just for shits and giggles to see if they'll actually grow.

The spot will most likely be along a train line or other spots that are "in plain sight" so to speak, but where people don't actually walk or look to hard at. I plan to put it in a camo'd pot 3/4th the way into the ground hidden away from sight and inbetween other bushes and plants. I'll go back to the spot when ever I need to and give it a bit of TLC, trim, maybe some spray, etc. (in the wee hours of the morning or late late at night obviously)

Anyway, when I go scouting for this stealth grow location what should I look for? A certain amount of space between already existing bush/plants? Near a wall so that it doesn't get as much sunlight or put it in a spot where it will get t the most sunlight? etc

I'm reading about growing now and I've never grown before so while I learn how to actually grow I just thought I'd chuck these vague questions out there.

OH and is there any particular seed I should buy that will be the best for these sort of locations?

Thanks all

Hi Ripper,

Growing in metropolitan areas can most certainly be done. Your success will depend entirely on your choice of location.

A cannabis plant can stick out like a sore thumb, so you have to use the existing vegetation to your advantage. I've found that planting amongst 'darker' moist vegetation will conceal your plant better. Look for a northerly exposure with lots of sunlight. Beware of tall trees.

Outdoors, seeds sown in October will grow very large over Summer. You have to take this into account, because large plants are easier to spot.

Tending your plants at night can be a good idea, just don't act suspiciously. Have a valid reason for being where you are. Crawling along train lines probably ain't the smartest though. Good spots can be the secluded corners of parks and reserves. Obviously you want to plant in a spot where other people wont want to go. Lantana is a good turn off for most.

Regarding seed selection, I would choose a fruity smelling strain over a more typical skunk. It's not so much an issue during veg, but when she starts to flower you can smell them a long way off.

Keep reading the forums, there's loads of info here.

Take a look here. I'm in the Sydney suburbs, so it can be done.

Good Luck mate, and have fun! ;)

P.S What's with the username? Rippers are the bane of my growing existence, not that you would indulge in such practices though, right?
