First time grower suggestions pleeeeease

Recommended Posts

Thanks Bill and Ev. Will just give them water. So far there are no signs that i have sent them to their death. This morning they were looking comfortable when I went in to have a chat with them.

:peace:

What did they say to you?

Hey Swooper

They told me that they didn’t enjoy being ripped from their pots having and their roots exposed. I was forgiven in the end and they promised to grow big and strong with massive fat buds.

I didn’t have the heart to tell them what they were in for after that. ;)

Hi Nor,

Your plants look tops and as all have implied 'it's the bottom 1/2 of the mj plant that leads to toe top & the part that smokes up nicely'.

Do things early and it will provide safe navigation and passage later. Plenty of old sailer's tagging ya with all the right information & to help with any questions you have.

Grow well & post a pic or 5 as all like visuals - particularly when in 12/12.

;)

Nitty.

Thanks Nitram

I was going to post up some more pics on the weekend but at the moment the Girls look pretty much the same as they do in the original pics. Thinking they might be stunted from the transplant.

Hopefully I will have some nice photos to post soon.

I agree, lots of help on this site its great. Wish I had even 10% of the knowledge some of you guys do. Been enjoying reading as many posts on here as possible. Kinda addicted to it. Cant stop reading.

Hey everyone,

Thought I would update you on my progress with some pictures. They seem to have taken well to the new soils and are growing fast. I seem to be raising my lights every few days now. Have not added any nutes yet and they seem fine.

Also I have just built a mini version of Groks bubble cloner. I saw the tutorial and had to make one so now I am going to experiment with some clones and if it works out may keep the mothers in veg and just flower the clones. Anyway if anyone can tell me if my plants are mature enough to take clones and also im unsure of what light cycle the bubble cloner should be under.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped me get this far.

heya Nor  .. plants look really healthy an nice now ... you will have to keep raising the light too,

unless of course you remove the most recent upper-most growing tip.... or gently bend the top part of the plant over to a horizontal position and tie it down to the top of pot with some string to stop it springing back up vertical again ... what this does is re-directs the upward growth of the top to all the other secondary shoots below it and gives you more growing tips to take cuttings from , this method is called Low Stress Training (LST) please do a search on it before attempting and you will understand the process a lot better lol ...

alternately the 'tipping" method (removing the growing tip) results in the two side shoots below where you tipped, becoming the main growing tips and also to a lesser degree directs stronger growth to the lower down shoots, except this method is more stressful to the plant than LST ..

these are only suggestions and by no means mandatory steps in growing, i encourage you to research these methods for a greater understanding of the growth patterns and manipulation of the Cannabis plant structure ...

regarding the taking of clones it can generally be done in weeks 4,5,6 onwards, completely dependant on the physical structure, vigor and health of the individual plant .. imo yours look ready to give you some cuttings

its ok to keep the cuttings under the same light hours as the parent plant, but cuttings do not need or want intense strong light 'cause the are really in a state of suspension whilst awaiting root development and cannot grow like normal plants ..

if these are in fact bag seed plants then unfortunately there is no possible way of identifying the strain .. just call them Nor's Pride :D

all the best with 'em
