Canna Chopper

Police in the northeastern Achterhoek region have begun using an unmanned miniature helicopter to track down the illegal cultivation of cannabis, which often takes place indoors. The so-called "canna-chopper" is fitted with cameras and a sniffer to take air samples out of ventilator shafts and chimneys. A dedicated gas analyser is able to recognise traces of weed smell in the air samples.

 

Police say they are not breaking the law because the samples can be taken without entering the building. The unmanned dwarf helicopter can stay airborne for a maximum of eight hours. It was designed and built by Dutch police engineers.

 

Police spokesman Anton de Ronde told Radio Netherlands Worldwide that the first flight on Tuesday morning had already led to the discovery of a cannabis drying shed and a plant cutting facility.

That would have been bloody handy on black saturday to track the path of the fires and the authorities would be able to warn people of where the fire front was and when to evacuate.

 

but obviously finding canna is SOOO MUCH more important than saving lives!!!!!

 

They keep using it to invade peoples privacy and some bugga is going to take a shot at it.

If a chopper could fly for 8hrs straight the tank on it must be a 10ltr drum, so if it can fly for 8hrs it wouldn't be small to lift the fuel it would need to fly. Add in the technology to sniff as it flew, add another 10ltr drum for the extra weight. So now we would have the size of a Ultralight.

 

Don't believe it, you would need a bigger engine than a 50, so the fuel consumption does not add up 8hr??? maybe 20min. And if it was battery then you would need a car battery at least.

 

IMO and if tech has changed in days/weeks I say put away your radio jammers and spend the money on more lights.

How many people reading this thread would be wanting to take aim at these things? lmao It's be worth buying a cheap remote control plane just to smash into the bloody things, after it crashes into peep's yard's, they could then happily take to them with a hammer

Still don't believe it could fly for 8hrs but they may fly it over a property they suspect is growing. But a radio jammer would jam the user flying it, then you could go pick it up and hang it in the grow room as a trophy, lmao.

 

They have them to fly behind a skier when doing down hill with cams on them but they have a few going as the fuel doesn't last.

I agree che, choppers are very inefficient in design and could never get that type of range, The CIA predator design would allow that range but NO CHOPPER.

So probably just another press release from the UN office of propaganda for war.

 

Or it might just be that the journalists got their facts wrong.... nah that would NEVER happen
