Supplemental lighting

I'm currently in flower running a 400w hps and 400w mh in ablite reflectors side by side on 10 plants. I'm gowing frustrated with wiring and rearranging them daily to get the most light down to the lower branches and only really getting thick top growth.

Im wondering if anyone has ideas on supplemental ighting or maybe even different methods of lighting? Like for instance if I was to put a 250w HID just off the floor directed upwards would this be effective or is it maybe a case of my reflective surfaces are not reflective enuf as its only reflecting from the white room walls. Or perhaps putting fluro growlights on the outside vertically as well?

Any ideas or advice is appreciated...

unitformity is crucial for grows with large numbers of plants

and you only want the top cola from grows like dat

dont bother with anyting but the best

the problems with light from underneath is many fold

thc is light senitive and is found most abundent underneath the leaf and branches away from dammaging light and heat

there may be a way to improve growth this way but i have never found it benificial in my experiments

all light stictly from above

so you cant move the light

but you can

train the plant to expose all the buds to equal light

for me scrog sloved this problem totally

Greetings Rad -

I got held up before getting into flower this time so their a bit taller than usual and the lower buds are really shittin me off as there thumb size and I can just see the potential! but cant do anything! - except sit there every morning for an hour moving all the branches to try to get light better!

Do you think I should nip all the lower smaller buds off to concentrate on the tops? I was unsure if that'd stunt em. I'd say Im about 2-3weeks max from pullin and gettin frustrated as they seem to hav slowed down and the clones are gettin bigger so Im tryin to speed it all along. Maybe that trouble i had earlier in the month has affected em.

I may have to give scrog a go I guess. It just always seemed like too much work!! tho thats wot im doin anyway.... How high did you let em grow before you screend em?

but that just me

lots of other irey herb growers do just dat and have the harvest to prove it

i like to make hashish, hash oil then fertilizrs and nutrients from everyting sept the very best

for me there is no waist

or just tie dem down

remember

just like all irey females

dem love it slow hand style

make all changes gradual over a couple of weeks

it is best to do all your training in grow before you change to bloom

then when you hav filled your grow space

swich to bloom

it is only intensive for the 2 weeks druing training

after that its bloom as usual

shit 10C in Nimbin and i havent even put a blanket on the bed yet!!

 

Just found a great link on LST. Didnt know what it was b4 but i suppose its really just a variation on scrog. Not bad, i think i may give that a go definately
