Cannabis worth $1.35m seized

Recommended Posts

“GOOD police work” and assistance from members of the public has led to a drugs raid that uncovered cannabis plants with a street value of about $1.35 million.

Detectives from Bundaberg Police conducted a search on a North Bundaberg business about 9am on Tuesday morning, where they uncovered a secret hydroponic set-up and 340 marijuana plants concealed in two shipping containers at the rear of the business.

“The plants were 30cm to 1.5m in height, and there was irrigation, lighting and cooling equipment,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Cameron Schneider said.

Further investigations on Tuesday afternoon led police to uncover a second stash of illegal plants - scattered throughout the crop of an canefarmer north of Bundaberg.

Det Acting Sen Sgt Schneider said Bundaberg detectives worked with the AGL Action Rescue helicopter to spot the crops, revealing about 200 more cannabis plants hidden in the canefield.

“It was found spread-out through the canefield, not just in one section,” he said.

He said the farmer did not know the plants were there.

“(It was down to) good police work and the co-operation of the public,” Det Acting Sen Sgt Schneider said.

A 48-year-old North Bundaberg man has been charged with two counts of producing a dangerous drug in excess, and one count of possessing an item used in the commission of a crime.

Investigations are ongoing, and the man has been bailed to appear in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on June 1.

The plants will analysed by forensic scientists and later destroyed.

first of all this aint good police work nothing the pigs do in my opinion is good. PIGS focus on raids too much never mind all the child abusers rapests on the street. You kno y they dont care about busting them????? coz there to busy busting dealers.... u know y coz there all fucking jealous of the money y else would they worry bout it so much "hello pigs there are far worse crimes out there" wake up you aint never gana stop it so stop trying....... and the part bout the mofos destroying it i highly doubt that u know wat i bet they destroy all the moeny they found too and they destroy everything thats illegal hahahaha

I heard pigs had to go thru some kinda training where they get sprayed with capsican spry tasered nd other shit if this is tru the wankers could make money off dvds of that i would pay cash money for that shit $50 + that would be funni as all hell. C theres a suggestion of how they could use there time a bit more constructivly.

"two counts of producing a dangerous drug in excess, and one count of possessing an item used in the commission of a crime. "

What happened to Cannabis with intent to sell comercially? And what the fuck is "possessing an item used in the commission of a crime"

Why can't they be straight forward? Oh yeah, doesn't sound so bad then huh?

Also that cane farmer who "didn't know they were there", i BET you he was the guy (not sure if I remember this correctly (from The Union doco) in big operations) who owns the land they do all the shit on and therefore gets money but takes no blame.

If I'm correct in how this works, then they'll be back up in no time.
