I can picture the ads now " ice, ekky's and weed are bad kids try this new super strength alcopop from the people who own us....errrrr um donate to us...oh shit thats not right....who pay us off...damnit thats still not right.....oh fuck it...look here kids just drink some piss but be responsible just long enough for us to get some tax money outta ya"

 

 

In my mind the worst drugs ever created was cigerettes (not tobacco) and mass produced alcopops that are so sweet they can be sculled 1 after another . Their the worst because they kill so many yet their socialy acceptible.

Just in:

I just saw an ad on T.V with a woman telling the sad story of her husbands death from an earthquake (I think.... it was kind of ambiguous.... okay extremely ambiguous) Then it says to "Raise a glass to our fallen heroes". How do they expect to lower alcohol use with patriotic ads like this? Fucking dickheads. I expect to see a few young and dumb boys raising a bottle for our fallen heroes.

Yes I have seen them on Fox , like the one where it shows a few scenarios then says " marijuana you never know what it will do to you "

My bad, That article said they would start on Sunday. But I just walked past the T.V like 10 minutes ago and saw the ending of one "Marijuana: You don't know what it'll do to you"

Actually I know full well what it will do to me. Morons.

To bad the alcohol ones are just saying "don't be over the legal limit while driving"

I don't know if the actual ad content is the same as last years though. If so, how the fuck did it cost them $18 million dollars!?

Yeah I bet ive seen all of them by now because of the amount of times i take public transport, they are on train platforms as well. Most of them are about ice, ive only seen one on weed (which i saw for the first time while baked ). It said something about messing up your head then your life, then had a pic of some teen who looked more like an ice addict than anything else . I hate how they try to slap on the sweaty, beady eyed junkie look to every bud smoker, makes me sick

Too true Kronhead. I've seen to Cannabis ones and an ice one. All on my way to TAFE.

 

I have made a counter-poster. I'm not sure if I will be able to print it out large enough to cover the posters or if I could just print the word bit out of A3 and then stick it over the words. Check it out.

There's nothing that I hate more than these anti-drug ads. Their aim is to propogate ignorance and fear about drugs, not offer any evidence based arguments. The whole anti-drug campaign is based around "you don't know". If we don't know, then why don't they tell us something we can know!?

 

Probably because they know any holistic look at the facts won't come out in their favour...
