Help setting up lights in cool tubes with carbon filter?

Recommended Posts

High all?,

I'm looking at setting up a grow in a 1.4 x 1.4 x 2.0m Mylar grow tent. Planning on using 8 auto pot's under 2 x 400W HPS in cool tubes and not sure on the best way to set up ventilation. I've been very bored today and drawn a couple of angled pics of what I was planning to do. Any input would be greatly appreciated, eg. should I vent cool tubes open ended from in the tent, or from the out side?, and should the carbon filter be vented out of the tent or is it fine to run with no ducting?, is there anything else I've forgotten etc.

Thanks again,

I dont really know where the fan ports are in the grow tents as I have never used them. The way I would do it, would be to hook up the carbon filter to the tubes on one end then throw the inline fan sucking out on the opposite end.

To do this would be to simply have tubes end to end in a straight line that way u wont need spliters and also minimizing the bends in the ducting, if u dont have enough room length wise just put a 90 degree bend in the duct on the carbon filter end.

I hope that configeration works in your tent buddy.

mate thats a bloody mess! place your carbon filter at the top in the corner where your air will be exhausted now run ducting to your first cool tube than run more ducting from the other end of the cool tube to the next cool tube than run ducting from the other end of this cool tube out the exhaust hole with your fan on the end

in that last home drawn pic are u sucking air thru a carbon filter.......they can do this but work far more efficiently pushing air out of the filter rather than doing the hoover on it

.. first time Ive ever heard a fan can push harder than it can pull ..
