O.k I know the main thing a cannabis plant need is Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium, but about how much zinc, iron, and those other chemical elements should be in my fertilizer mix, depending on vegetative and fruit stage? Also I would like to know what your ph levels should look like? How much vermiculite, and perlite, should be in the soil mix, also should peat moss be mixed in? I cant remember if it made a difference. Also would a 2.5 gallon bucket be good enough for this project? I wanna get my hands on some BlueCheese, but by me living in Illinois, USA I don't know if it would actually come, or what would be a good site to buy them from, without anyone showing up at my door besides UPS? Another thing is ... would a 400 watt HPS, and 400 watt Metal Halide do the job. I don't know if the plants need a certain amount of lumen. And if so would one ballast be good enough for two lamps. I will be posting pics of my grow area and show you guys what I plan on doing? I would really appreciate if you can answer some of my questions so I can get a visual of what I will be doing to prepare. About $600 bucks should do me right if not about $750. Do you agree?

welcome hydroman ... please tell us what space you have to grow in e.g. your situation, what you want from a grow like do you want a continuous garden or a one off crop , how much weed do you want ... so we can answer your questions more accurately ..

O.k my grow space is 3.7ft x 3.7ft the floor to ceiling height is 9ft - 10ft, I notice some plants say 8 ounces per plant or 500-550gs I plan on growing at least 8 ounces per plant, and looking at my closet I'd say 3-4 in vegetative and 3-4 in flowering stage. I would say I'd repeat the process twice or thrice. I know for sure I wanna grow indica. Sativa is not a problem, basically a sog method. So I'd say 32 ounces per harvests. As far as cash I make like $400 every 2 weeks.

A 600w is the biggest light ya gonna fit in there.......might i suggest you start with a small system ......like 4plants

 

DWC is foolproof imo so check it out when ya get a chance.

, i love the passion bud man, but if this is ur first run aim for 1 or 2 ounces per plant, many variables to conisder though out ur 8-12 week grow.

as someone who is fairly novice myself i gotta say chronmasta and paulshop are right, you should start small and don't be counting how much you think you should harvest because its kinda like setting yourself up for failure. And one of the best things that you can do is start a diary on here and be extremely thorough document damn near everything in a diary don't do any guess work with anything. the more thorough you are the easier it is to diagnose any problems you may run into. if your going the soil route get a pro mix because if you use soil that you would buy at a hardware store you can run into a lot of problems too. proper flushing is important too, if you don't you can end up with nute lock out which is a pain in the ass. ventilation is also very crucial, get a carbon filter or make your own, odour probably isn't a risk you wish to take. also keep in mind that if your plants are getting tall in the veg stage you may want to train them because once flowering hits they will stretch and if they get too close heat can become a great stresser and force your fems to hermi out. just a couple of lessons i learned. but most important be thorough like your a scientist

I see what you guys mean I know for sure I will be growing Indica. I was looking at that blue cheese strain which is 80% Indica. But I don't know if any seed banks that hold this variety is legit or not. Plus I am paranoid from all the shit I hear about shipping. I wanna grow Indica because the plants are short and bushy and just in case the manager come to do inspections from time to time I can disguise it with flowers. One major thing is I wouldn't want to have my set up, and have to take it down when he comes. Which is rare but I don't wanna take any chances. My grow space is cool to me, because it has shelves which can be cool for seedlings and storing things like my nutrients and what not. The ceiling is like 9-10 ft from the floor. It also has a window. My space is 3.7ft x 3.7 and like Chron say start with a small system. But seeing as I will be growing Indica do you think I could fit atleast 6 plants. I know I'd do this in a one grow run. Then eventually repeat the process.
