Charged with selling drugs to schoolchildren

Recommended Posts

Two men have been charged with selling drugs to children after police saw a teen get into the back of their car.

Police later allegedly found bags of cannabis in the car.

The officers, who were investigating the supply of drugs around Hurstville, were patrolling in the area when they saw three boys in school uniform walk towards a Nissan Tida, police said.

The trio spoke to the two men in the car and one of the boys, aged 15, got in the back of the car before the car drove off, police said.

Police stopped the car a little while later and allegedly found six bags of cannabis hidden inside two spray cans.

"The boy was still in the vehicle when police stopped it," a police spokeswoman said.

He was issued a caution for possession of cannabis.

The two men, aged 23 and 26, were arrested and taken to Hurstville police station where they were charged with supplying a prohibited drug to a child under 16 and possessing a prohibited drug.

The 23-year-old man will face Sutherland Local Court today and the 26-year-old man will face the same court on April 30.

:peace:

Pretty dumb of those guys to be selling to "kids" in school uniform :D

No doubt plenty of people sell a bit to "kids" around the planet and no doubt many "kids" wanna buy a bit ... and hey , plenty of "kids" grow it and sell it too ;)

But to sell to them in the street ... with their uniforms on is just idiocy :yinyang:

Now I know many people don't condone Cannabis usage for children .. understandably ... but I think many must forget what they were like at 13/14/15/16/17 yrs of age , sure not quite an adult .. but most are far from being a "child" and very capable of making their own decisions ... where do ya draw the line? 17 and a 1/2? because they are "close enough" to becoming an "adult" the instant of their 18th B'day?? That's a bit silly see .. In the end I still beleive it is up to the individual to make their own choices ... and "individuality" or sense of self awareness does not start at age 16 or 18 or 21 etc. :)

I know when I was in high school I could get More of Anything than I ever could get these days ... including most of the very best Outdoor Cannabis that I will probably ever smoke :D and I've known literally 100's of people who started smoking below the age of 15 , some well below ... and from my obvservations very few of these people are impaired in any noticble way ... actually most of them are pretty damn cool people ;)

Anyhoo , that's enough from me ... Stay safe everyone ;)

Budman ... Out :toke:

Wise words there, Budman. I have to agree completely with you. As a young fella (but still considered an "adult" in the eyes of public lol), I can clearly remember the days when I was 16, and thought I was just as mature as most 20-something year olds. Looking back on it, I'd have to say I haven't matured at all over the last few years. Maybe instead of saying "once you're 18, you're an adult", they should have some kind of test to become an adult. lol

But yeah, I find it harder to find grass as an 'adult' than I did as a 16 year old high school student. At highschool, all of my friends would have friends who grew their own, and I could easily pick up a bag when I wanted.

Now I feel really out of place, being 22 and meeting up with a dealer who rocks up in his parents car with a big red P Plate at the front window.

But that's how I feel. I know this has strayed completely off topic and all, but yeah. The kid buying was old enough to know what was happening. The dealer shouldn't be persecuted even more-so just because the kid is a kid.
