Big cannabis haul found in woman's luggage at Adelaide Airport

A LARGE cannabis haul was allegedly found in luggage belonging to a northern suburbs woman about to fly interstate from Adelaide Airport yesterday.

 

Detectives from the Drug Investigation Branch and Australian Federal Police seized the cannabis from the Salisbury East woman, 33, who was due to board an early morning Adelaide to Sydney flight.

 

The cannabis was allegedly sorted into 15 individual packages and hidden in her luggage.

 

The woman was arrested and charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug.

 

As a result of her arrest, two Salisbury East properties were raided and police allegedly found further items associated with the cannabis.

 

A man, 43, located at one of the houses was also charged with trafficking.

 

Both were bailed to appear in the Holden Hill Magistrates Court at a later date.
