Decided i would make a topic on odour prevention where people can post their own observations on odour prevention.

 

Pretty simple concept really, just fill out the following and post your results. I'm hoping this will help a lot of people when it comes to this sort of thing as there isn't much discussion on it at the moment with set questions like this. If you have bought multiple

BRAND: Odor-Sok

MODEL: Series 1

INEFFECTIVE AFTER: 10 weeks

STILL EFFECTIVE AFTER: N/A

PURCHASE PRICE: $105

YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE PRODUCT:

YOUR RECOMMENDATION: Would not purchase again.

 

 

BRAND: Odor-Sok

MODEL: Series 2

INEFFECTIVE AFTER: 10 weeks

STILL EFFECTIVE AFTER: N/A

PURCHASE PRICE: $95

YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE PRODUCT: Worked great up until the 8 week mark then started leaking a little smell, within the next two weeks it was ineffective. Tried drying and machine washing as per instructions but was still useless. Discussed with my hydro man and he said he has had more bad reports on Odor-Soks than favourable ones and will discontinue selling them when he clears his stock. He recommended me the Can filter over the phat filter once i had finished discussing that with him.

YOUR RECOMMENDATION: Would not purchase again.

 

 

BRAND: Can Filter

MODEL: 150mm

INEFFECTIVE AFTER: N/A

STILL EFFECTIVE AFTER: 1 week

PURCHASE PRICE: $180

YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE PRODUCT: Can't comment just yet, but the hydro man said it should last for at least three years, his experiences with them have been great. So we'll have to wait and see.

YOUR RECOMMENDATION: As of now i would spend the extra $80 on a proper filter that lasts a lot longer and is better manufactured. Only bad thing compared to my previous odor-soks is the weight but that is no issue for me as long as i have a quality product.

 

PLEASE NO DISCUSSION IN THIS THREAD, IT WOULD BE GREAT TO KEEP IT CLEAN SO PEOPLE CAN LOOK THROUGH WITHOUT ANY CLUTTER.

I'm keen to know as I am planing to buy one of these items in he next 2 months.

 

I started a post on odor sok's v's carbon filters which gave me a lot of good & current information.
