Some friends of mine are planning to put some plants out into the mangroves up on stands above the ground in large pots  , i told them that it would be too salty but hey, who listens to me. what do you think?

So do you think that if they kept them above the water they'd be ok?

i just thought that growing with all the salt around them would mess them up a bit.

i reakon the salt would affect it also, maybe if they can find some fresh water mangroves somewhere and check the trees and other stuff growing there to check where the water does come up and try to get the right size pot it may work well, dunno really. get some pics if they go through with it. would be cool to know the outcome lol

g'day; i reckon salt water or the spray will damage mj.

Wooly from jrs grow pages, had a pot in middle of a swamp, it grew out very well.was fresh water.

find a smelly, mozzie infested swamp somewhere, no one is likely to try steal your buds then, but ya may have problem pulling dead THC coated insects off buds at harvest time, lol.

I would think that the availability of light would be the biggest issue. Mangrove canopy is fairly tight and lets hardly any light down. You'd have to find gaps in the tree cover.

But in my area, helicopters flightpaths frequent along the river directly above the mangroves, so the plants could possibly stand out.
